Learning Experience
During this course, I can say that I learned many different things about the figure I didn't know before. Whenever I look at a person, I start to deconstruct how they would look as a drawing. My favorite material this semester was paint. I enjoy mixing the colors and seeing the outcome. Even though I am a painting novice, I think it is extremely fun to do and will continue to use paint in future works. The final painting assignments were very enjoyable to me because of the fact that I enjoyed working with paint so much. Although I am not artistically inclined, I was able to overcome my noviciate and paint artwork that I was proud of.

Final Painting
Looking Out
For this painting, I wanted to maintain a simple environment where I could place these figures. I mostly wanted to focus on the colors I could use to give the figures different outfits; with less focus on the landscape. I felt that my previous painting lost all depth, so I tried the opposite technique for this one.

Final Painting
Lone Hiker
I wanted to create a figure in an almost surreal landscape, lush with green. However, my ambition got the better of me and I lost the image I had in my head of this painting. It resulted in the final product looking flat, and the figure truly looks lost.

Midterm - Self-Portrait
In my self-portrait, I showcase my identity through subtle personal symbolism. The portrait is mostly a representation of my physical appearance through the use of a mirror. My goal was to create an artwork that I would consider to look like me.
