My finished inspiration scene. I like the final outcome, the colour and animation I think fit well into the entire sequence.

My coloured version on the confidence scene I have been working on. I’m really happy with the outcome. I will try to add sound sometime next week, but overall I think this animation will work really well into the scene.

I have tweaked the things I previously mentioned in a post before. I think this animation is ready to be coloured and backed up with its final audio soon.

My third update for my inspiration scene. My human animation is mostly complete, along with other tweaks I wanted to make too, such as the root being connected to the brain.
Some things I still need to tweak. I want to change the size of the human character. I was told it was weird seeing him on the same plain as the brain. Shrinking him down and having a small circle around the brain indication soil will fix this I hope. I will be able to colour soon.

A second update to my inspiration scene. I have added in the human character. Still very rough, however. I will refine his animation later on.

A progress update for my inspiration scene. Since I have finished the linework of the confidence scene, I am now moving onto inspiration. While not finished in a lot of areas, I still need to add backgrounds for the scene changes, and make some animations more fluent, as well as animating in the human character, I think this is going well enough.

This is another quick update post. Since I have finished my background, I thought I would place it behind my scene and export it. I really like how it has turned out! I think the mysteriousness and loneliness comes out here, I really like it.
The only other change is a white border. There was no particular reason to adding, I just think it looks nice aesthetically.

These are my 2 backgrounds I will be using for my scenes. The left being for my confidence scene and the right being for my inspiration scene.
I made these on Procreate, and decided to use a brush similar to the one I will be using on Photoshop when animating. Normally I like to use the ‘ink bleed’ brush on Procreate. I quite like both backgrounds. I wanted to give the confidence background a whimsical or mysterious feel, so I added a few purple hues. With the inspiration background I added a lot of simple shapes and greenery. The idea was to make it feel like a children’s gardening show.

This is my third confidence update post. I have finished the linework, aside from tweaking parts my scene was criticised about. A change I want to make myself is having the eyes stay open when they fade in at the opening of the scene, and maybe blink a couple times. I want to make this change as I was told its unclear what they were on a first watch. This change should hopefully make the eyes abundantly clear to an audience.

This is my second update post for my confidence scene. You can see the animatic faintly behind my new updated version. I’ve changed the part with the dial, and had it appear in the scene with both the eyes and brain. However I was told this made the scene busy and was hard to know what to focus on, so I will change that in the future.

As I previously mentioned in an earlier post, this is a quick edit I made using Adobe Premiere Pro. It is my confidence animatic with the addition of sound.

This is a quick edit to my inspiration animatic. I have been playing around with different sounds in Adobe Premiere Pro.

My second inspiration animatic. I changed a couple things about the beginning of this scene. I tried to make it look like the human character is being teleported into the scene, as well as the way the brain falls into frame. Otherwise, this is very similar to the previous animatic.

My second run of the confidence scene. This time animated in Adobe Photoshop. I recently installed the AnimDessin2 plugin, which has made my time animating significantly easier.
The animatic itself hasn’t changed too much. It’s slightly smoother in parts, and the keyframing is coming together too. I added a small part at the end when the brain character presses the remote controller. This is something that will be incorporated in most if not all scenes for the animation, as a bit of consistency and to show how the character gets through each scene.

These are my two style frames. I used a colour palette Steven had recommended we use, which I personally really like. The bright, vivid colours really make the images pop.
I kept the backgrounds for both frames a single colour, however I might change that for the inspiration scene, on the right due to a lot of the empty space. I made some design changes too, like the human character design, giving the brain character limbs, and making the eyebrows the same as Steven’s design in the confidence scene on the left.

In a group meeting we had arranged on Teams, we tasked ourselves with designing Steven’s character in our art styles. Steven is the art director, so he gets the final say over how he would like things to look. With our television motif, it gave us a bit of freedom in using our own art styles, which I think helps us a lot.
As for the design above, this is something I churned out after a few minutes, so it’s not too good. i just tried to draw Steven’s character design in my style. I will likely draw a more accurate design for my final animations.
