For wlw exocolonist ideas, my dream would be something inspired by the Twelth Night Anne Hathaway photoshoot with Nem, femSol, and Tangent.

Oh wow, a sapphic classic! And Nem wielding the sword makes a lot of sense. Though that's certainly a lot of yearning to come from Tangent! Is Tangerine (NemTang) your rare pair, or is it the trio you're into? (I am crafting ideas based on answers >:})

Okay, I just did the first coaster's ~*~deluxe~*~ felt backing, and it was a slow and sticky process! I'm using sewing scissors to trim the edges, because a craft-knife will bite and drag immediately on any of the fibre that isn't cut (which, with a weave as thick as felt, is quite a lot of fibre). As a result of how close I have to trim, the blade motion is taking a tiny bit of the wood's coating off, but it's easily touched up with brown permanent marker.
The felt looks and feels really plush!! I'm definitely pleased with the effect, it's going to be so much smoother when you moved them across a surface. Because it's so plush, though, I'd definitely avoid submerging these in water. And if they do get very wet from a spilled drink, I'd suggest putting them on a towel with something very heavy on top (the image part protected by something) to force the liquid out and prevent warping.

I like that it's unclear how much of the gore is part of the dress's design and how much is job hazard (and indeed, how much is symbolism)...

I am back on my classic flavour of bullshit...

#WIP#I'll work on this again on the weekend#it's been purposefully gradual and not my usual breakneck rendering#because Health

Great news, they're ready!! Orms Print Room did an incredible job with the colours, so much so that they've really shown just how badly the other place messed up. So now that I've got the proofs, I can go ahead and place the bulk order!
More good news: they worked out quite light, so I'll be able to fit more than one set in a courier pouch and still pay the same rate as quoted on my kofi! :D
I *do* have plans to make a 'premium' version of these with felt-backing, if that's something folks would be interested in waiting a little longer for me to get the adhesive felt and craft them, and tip a couple coins for materials/labour?
Here are some more piccies, and take note, that because they're high-gloss, you're still not getting a fully accurate look at how nice the colours are irl, there wasn't a light source in my house that wasn't getting in on the action roflmao.

weird cultural shift detected
Fam, be careful with your time online. I highly recommend sinking some time and energy into offline pursuits.
Try: knitting or crochet; gentle movement, stretching, walking if you can; playing a musical instrument, whether it's piano or penny whistle; and especially reading.
I do not mean performative BookTok reading that we do for likes because our neurotransmitters have been nerfed by modern life.
I mean actual reading that we do for ourselves alone.
If reading is hard, if attention or energy or memory are operating at a deficit, I get it. Nevertheless, please try. If you notice you're skipping across big chunks of text like a river stone, if you can't finish a paragraph, slow down, pronounce the words out loud. Stop sometimes and ask yourself what you just read. Explain the story or article or poem to your blorbo or your cat or a stuffed animal.
If your head feels scrambled up, no judgment. We may have incredibly intractable neurochemical reasons that this is hard. Just tell the blorbo, "That's hilarious, I don't remember any of what I just read. Let's read it again, together."
(Please don't ask A.I. to do this for you. Please. It's your right to read and think about it your own way. A.I. doesn't actually understand anything. Please don't assume it will guide you safely through this next weird phase of our human culture.)
If reading longform, offline, makes you feel bored or anxious, be gentle and patient with yourself. Start with stories you remember well, reliable sources of well-being. But please know you will need to put some backbone into it in the long run.
I think we are going to need to rebuild our ability to think, to process experience. This will be an unsupported activity. In fact, most of the really powerful cultural forces are making it very hard for us to notice, feel, perceive, or think clearly.
Not sure what, but something's happened quite recently that is making this situation much worse, some kind of tipping point.
Please read something every day.
Your friend, greenjudy
#Some kind of tipping point has surely been reached#reading to one's blorbo is an excellent suggestion as it adds practical elements to an otherwise passive activity#without distracting from it

I'm sitting with a quandary. I use my own learned pronunciations to record narration, which is a colonial English accent (not RP, but that direction). When a word comes up that has notably different UK and US pronunciations, I stick with the natural-feeling UK, because most American listeners can figure out the difference. But now I need to record the word "buoy", and while pretty much the entire English-speaking word has it as a homophone for "boy", Americans say "boo-ie". And in the context of this reading, it's vitally important that the meaning be understood immediately. I know international listeners are aware of how Americans have tweaked the pronunciation, and so when they hear "boo-ie" they can parse it, but a lot of Americans aren't aware that there even *is* an international pronunciation (despite pronouncing "bouyant" with a corresponding first syllable). But. If I switch to an American pronunciation amid my normal accent, I fear sounding ridiculous. So I suppose the question is: does one alter one's pronunciations to favour an American audience, even if one's work is theoretically international?

Seeing The Lovers on my wild dash, just like that???
SHB mostly post on insta, so go follow themmm, Sirena has that man-eating woman-snaring quality that is so lethal for sapphics, and the creators know it well (one of the Kickstarter rewards was Sirena's tank water).
They've also put out some incredible art books, available on Gumroad, both from the production itself and an extended universe, creatures of the deep book.
THE LOVERS Trailer by Studio Heartbreak
An animated thriller about the romantic tension between a seafood chef and a siren, set in a dark fantasy Philippines
