Something I wanted to say…Leaders

I have to say this after just realizing it with some of my favourite groups…personally I am NOT a fan of any kinds of hierarchy because I think we can only survive if we finally accept equality as a common thing for everyone. Now in kpop, there is this thing with leaders I lately felt like talking about because of that… what makes leaders the best and what doesn’t.

Being a leader means to guide the group, NOT to dominate it.

I’m not saying this because I want to shade or blame any other group, it’s just that some give different vibes here than others. NCT for example has almost 20 members by now, but somehow, they still manage an equality.

And that is what a leader has to do - bringing balance in the individuality of members to make them a team. And this is why being a leader is so hard.

You have to take care of every single member, every individual problem and need, every opinion. And then, you need to bring these together in ONE and balance them out to create the right vibe of the group because let’s be honest here, that makes 60% (at least) of a group.

I know not many people see this but it is also one big reason why some groups become big and others don’t, no matter what talent they have. It is the energy the group creates, and it is the leader’s job to guide them there.

People don’t see what thesee groups go through, we only see the outcome. A leader has to take care of all of it despite their own needs, need to solve every issue without being biased not only for the group but the company, and besides that, protect them from the wrong influences or possible scandals. They have to keep the face of the group and make it as easy as they can, no matter what.

And through all of that, fight their own insecurities. We don’t see the burden. And of course, some of them might get scared or overstressed because that’s hell of a position to be in.

You need to make it fit for everyone. And that includes the group, the fans who can be just as cruel, the management, media, and sometimes even families to please. Only one mistake you do can destroy it all for the members.

Now imagine being in that position without any of these giving you the respect to keep you stable. Let it be immature fans, bandmates in a difficult position, contracts you signed burning your freedom away or media on your heels. This is not a job for everyone, especially not for those who try to deal with it by ‘ruling’ over their group and keep control. This causes imbalance, and noticed or not, you will be able to feel when the dynamics in a group change.

Leaders are there to balance it all out, and some need to remember what it’s like to hold more strings that anyone can see - and that they are still only human.

True leaders chose the group over anything else. Fame, issues, insecurities. And that’s why the group accepts them as a leader.

I just wanted to say that because I find some of them are doing a great job.

Do you know why Jackson has more schedule than another? I don't know why I feel this way. It seems that he wants to be a solo singer, right? I know that I'm selfish but I was scared a lot 😞When he becomes more famous, he still staying with GOT7 or leaving them? He had many schedule in foreign countries, it was good, but it made me feel that one day he'll treat other members as a stranger, and they're not close anymore. I'm always afraid of that situation...

Jackson has more schedules than other members because:

- He was invited to many variety shows in Korea and promoted GOT7 when they debuted (he received offers to appear on Roommate 2 and Hitmaker because producers found him interesting on Weekly Idol)

- Thanks to his popularity on Korean shows, he was invited to host the Chinese version of Go Fridge

- Slowly, he became more known in China and received more offers

- Due to Korean ban in China (Korean artists weren’t able to promote in China for a while, and Korea couldn’t be mentioned), Jackson had to open his studio - Team Wang. It helped him receive more offers, and thanks to it he could have more influence on his activities in China (he was informed about offers he received, he could choose and accept them himself)

- He confessed that he wanted to become known as a singer and composer, that he wanted to show a more serious image, that he was tired of his variety idol image which was promoted in Korea

- In both Korea and China, Jackson is a member who’s the most known to the public

- His Chinese songs can’t be promoted in Korea or sung at GOT7′s events (he’s not promoting his solo career during GOT7′s activities).

He mentions GOT7′s bond and talks about his loyalty to JYPE and GOT7 the most out of all members. He was very hurt by people who doubted his loyalty and spread rumors about him leaving the group. He trended on Naver twice because he said that his members are the most important to him, and that he’s not leaving. I believe that fans shouldn’t make him feel this way, he shouldn’t feel guilty that he has solo activities. When he’s with GOT7 he makes sure to promote and hype up all members, praises them, gives them spotlight. When the MC wanted to ask him about something at MAMAs, he wanted to give the microphone to Yugyeom. 

He has his own management team in China, Team Wang, so he works there more. He said that just like being in GOT7 made him happy, promoting as a solo artist makes him happy too. It makes me sad when I see his own fans commenting on his Instagram and complaining about him posting something about himself and not GOT7 every time or asking him if he’s leaving ):

When it comes to dorm situation, Jackson shouldn’t be blamed for moving out. He wasn’t the first member to move out, and Jinyoung mentioned even before Youngjae moved out that they’re all planning to move out sooner or later. Fans have to accept it. If we don’t live with our family or friends, it doesn’t make us cherish them less.

“When he becomes more famous, he still staying with GOT7 or leaving them?”

GOT7′s contracts should last until 2021. Jackson can’t leave, and he mentioned many many times that he doesn’t want to leave.

To be honest, I’m sad that I have to answer such questions on Christmas ): If fans doubt him, who can support him?
