It's my actual life (except I'm not good looking lol), and I vouch for how WILDLY accurate its treatment of the emotional issues of stay-at-home-dad stuff. I just cannot recommend highly enough how it handles jealousy, isolation, parenting struggles, etc. Not me in the comments every chapter telling the author how she got the feels so perfectly right.

So absolutely sweet. So emotionally devastating. Gets meta by taking advantage of how AO3 works at one point. Next level in every way. I loved the developing Adrienette friendship. I loved Marinette and her father. I loved Marinette's feelings about her sick mother. Please everyone read this fic your face will melt with emotion, and you weren't really using your face, were you?

Can we normalize angry women?

It's like, when a man gets angry, or defends himself, or yells, or argues back, people are like, "he's just being a man. It's his right. He's saying the right thing. He has a right to defend himself."

But when a woman gets angry, or defends herself, or yells, or argues back, people are like, "Why is she getting so worked up? Is she PMSing? She's acting like a bitch. She's being disrespectful. Learn some manners."

Also there's another double standard. Facial expressions.

When a man is frowning, not smiling or just holding a resting face, everything is normal. He's just being himself. He's comfortable. No one's telling him to smile.

If a woman does all of the same things, people assume "she's angry. She's holding a grudge. Smile a little, sweetheart."

This is why the term "resting bitch face" is sexist because it's directed towards women. It's telling them that wearing a frown comes off as being a bitch, that you should smile more. In that calculation, everyone in this world has a resting bitch face because no one fucking smiles all the time.

I said what I said. Stop telling women to smile.

everyone expects to percy to be this really impressive leader but he’s really not. everyone turned to him because he’s the ill-fated prophecy child, but in the first few books it’s so clear he doesn’t even really care about saving the world. he steps up at first because he wants to protect his mom and he wants to give grover a chance. he steps up in sea of monsters because grover is in trouble. he steps up in the titan’s curse because he needs to protect annabeth and he needs to protect nico, who is just a kid. this pattern is so repeated throughout the series and it’s one of the things that makes percy so likeable 

percy doesn’t care about saving the world. percy cares about his family. he cares about his mom’s happiness. he cares about annabeth’s safety. he cares about grover’s dreams. he cares about nico’s life. he cares and he cares and he cares and he’s no leader. in the first few books, before the pressure of the prophecy really hit him, all he wanted was to stay at camp with his friends. he didn’t need a spotlight. he was home, and he was happy. and that’s one of the things that makes percy so genuinely good as a person and as a character. he’s not brave or noble or heroic. he just loves, and he loves very much.

My kiddo and i need your help now more than ever before.

2 years ago, my child was assaulted by their paternal father during his visitation time with them. I will not go into detail about what happened because it is incredibly disturbing and gruesome, but they ended up in the hospital. I tried to press charges, but the charges were dropped because they could not find the weapon that was used.

After it happened, i took the paternal father back to court and I was able to win sole legal and sole physical custody of my kiddo.

The paternal father is once again, trying to take custody of them. They do not want to see their father, they want absolutely nothing to do with him. They are 11 years old now and I feel that they are old enough to make that choice and that it should be respected.

I need help raising $$ for a lawyer and court fees so that i can fight this and protect them. I do not want them to be further traumatized by being forced to see their paternal father against their will. Please, please help me protect them. Help my kiddo stay safe.
