The big secret to finishing stories is sitting down and doing it.  That’s it.  A lot of people will only write when they’re inspired, and that’s setting yourself up to fail.  Nobody can be inspired 100% of the time.  You can be inspired 10%, 20%, maybe even 50% of the time.  The rest of it is discipline and it’s essential you teach yourself that if writing finished stories is a long-term goal.
