The main thing holding me back  from doing these icons before, was that I actually had no idea how to do them, haha.  I saw a tutorial on the official Sims forum by the lovely lina-mints but her tutorial only showed how to replace some of the icons from Zerbu’s mod.  I didn’t think this would be ideal or fair for a few reasons: 1) I didn’t want to replace any of the awesome icons Zerbu extracted for his mod and 2) I didn’t want everyone to have to scroll through 220+ icons to find the Harry Potter ones littered throughout.

I knew in order to release the pack, I’d have to figure out how to create my own icons from scratch, something that no one other than Zerbu has done at this point.  Did I mention I’ve never touched any XML files or worked in a script mod in my life?  Yeah, a bit overly ambitious of me.

Anyway, long story short, back in April, I bugged the people over at the S4S forum for help (thanks to OrangeMittens and Andrew), and they told me that at the moment S4S doesn’t handle SimData (the xml files I needed to do the icons). Then, miraculously, the latest update included the option to edit SimData!  Hooray!

There’s still no real tutorial on how to do these, so I had to figure it out on my own.  I’m actually really proud of myself for doing it!  I didn’t think I would!  

I was able to do two flavours as well; you can either download JUST the HP icons (so when you look in the icon menu, you only see the HP ones- see picture above), or you can download the file which includes EA’s original 24 icons + the HP ones.  Unfortunately, because this works with the same files as Zerbu’s, and because I used his as the groundwork for my mod, you can’t have both my HP icons and Zerbu’s icon mod at the same time. But if you’re playing different save games, you can swap them in and out as necessary.

Anyway, enough tech talk, I’m sure none of you care.  I’m just happy to have done something and figured it out, haha.  I’m no Zerbu and could’ve never done this without his mod, but I’ve come a long way for someone who knows nothing about script mods!

Next, I’ll be tackling my first custom traits.  Going to be using Zerbu’s Buff & Trait Factory.  Wish me luck!

Coming Soon: Harry Potter Stuff Pack #2- Get Together Club Icons preview

Here’s a sneak peak of the custom icons I’ve created for Get Together.  This mod couldn’t be made without @zerbu’s wonderful More Custom Icons mod; I used the groundwork for his mod to make mine, so all credit for the original mod goes to him.

The club icons can be used for you to create any sort of Harry Potter-themed club with Get Together. Gryffindors, Slytherins, Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs, even Death Eaters!  There’s two options for the houses- the official house crest, and a more Maxis-Matchy looking one :) These are not complete- I’ll likely add on icons for Dumbledore’s Army and the Order of the Phoenix.  If you have any suggestions, send me a message!

I will be releasing these once I finish the custom traits (I’ll be working on those next), so stayed tuned!

high waisted denim shorts

some basic high waisted jean shorts with folds at the bottom that i realised i was in desperate need of. this is the first time that i’ve properly played around with the mesh by sculpting it in blender, so i’m very pleased with them! come in 5 swatches, base game compatible, has a custom catalog thumbnail. please follow my tou. i hope you all like them ♡

EMILY DRESS FOR TODDLERS <3

so, here it is a simple dress I made for the cutie toddlers! I think is the first different thing a post here :0 

the dress has maxis match texture, and the buttons shine a little bit, which I really like! If you have any issues with the dress, you can contact me here

Controlling the Vampire Invasion

Thank you so much @babydollsimmer @questforsims @mdianasanders for your help with testing.

What we have determined is that Vlad is the trigger to EA”s vampire story.  After discussing things with SimGuru Ninja, the game is acting exactly as they wanted.

So what about those of us who don’t want the Vlad uninvited visit?

Simple!  Delete him!

Your sim will still have that initial nighttime visit by a vampire.  I chose to have my sims ignore the vampire.  Others have greeted the vampire and had the same result.

Vampires don’t return.  Vlad is the key to this and with him not in the save, the story never starts.

Of course there are always exceptions but four of us have tested this now and it’s worked.  Delete Vlad and you can have the GP without the vampires bothering your sim (they will still spawn, it is a vampire GP but at least they won’t enter your sims home uninvited).

Please reblog for those who want the GP and didn’t want the vampires entering their homes.  

(As far as the invasion goes?  I was never able to replicate that and neither was anybody else including the guru.  I have NO IDEA why so many are saying this is happening on the official forum.  Since they didn’t do the extensive testing we did and they didn’t list what they did do?  I can’t say.)
