As I was looking into lights in relation to my poster and liked how the neon gradient effect working in this poster. I tried to recreate something similar and although it did work I didn't like the look of how it turned out.

London design festival:

I admire the use of different sized and orientated letters and numbers as I think it gives character to the designs and posters and also the definition between the red and white colours makes the type stand out and catch the eye of the viewer.

2019 film independent spirit awards:

I love the colours and use of neon colours on black backgrounds as they really pop and draw the viewers attention. I really like the effect of the writing moving to the front of the cover by the fading back. The animations are so exciting and fun to watch.

2017 film independent spirit awards:

The colours in these posters and animations really catch my eye. I love how they overlap and merge together. I really like the different variations of fonts and uppercases and lowercase but think it works quite well.

Trying different variations of text on the same background to see which ones I like most

I decided to use photos from my visits to electric picnic for my poster and came up with lots of ideas. These were my three favourites

Digital collage workshop: before sticking down the analogue collages we individually photographed each piece to later use in photoshop and adapt into digital collage posters. I learned how to use the clipping mask which was very useful

Analogue collage workshop: we cut out pieces from magazines in the studio to make a simple poster to stick up on the wall

Developing my poster ideas

Bauhaus poster: we used a workshop in adobe illustrator to recreate the Bauhaus poster below. I really enjoyed it and found it a really helpful and fun way to learn techniques in illustrator.

We then used the same shapes on the first poster to create our own unique versions

Typography workshop: trying different fonts to link with our festival posters

Typography workshop: We colaboratavely made a type face just using various kinds of tape and used the letters to put messages up around the college for students to see

Moodboard workshop: We were each given a different cocktail to turn into a moodboard to represent the drink without actually showing it on the poster
