Camille Pissaro

He was a Danish-French impressionist painter
I love his work for its efforts of almost pointillism! My favourite of his work is “Flowers” which I saw in the National Gallery in Dublin in 2023 and has been one of my favourite paintings to this day.
“Everything is beautiful, all that matters is to be able to interpret” -Camille Pissaro
He studied at various academic institutions in Paris in his early years.
His preferred medium for his work is oil, which to me is a medium I’m not yet too familiar with but look forward to experimenting with in the future.

I also half finished this painting, adding a little amount of colour near the top and right side using oil pastel as I was a bit pissed off that I hadn’t finished it

A painting I did of the sink!
I was actually very happy with the end result of this one, especially as it was the first one I had fully finished altogether
I really love the splatters I did of watercolour too

Here is a painting of a picture I had taken before the Easter holidays.
Originally I was going to leave it unfinished but after seeing it beside pieces that were more complete I said I would finish it in a different way than originally planned
I painted the rest of the way down blue and decided to add random graffiti (almost as a reminder of the smoking area)
Also realised I forgot Ava’s hand, oops.

Life model painting
On Monday we did a life model drawing of Hannah (model) as she took pose sitting in a bench with one leg up.
I used a colour pallet of red and green (made the green myself) but did end up with a very much red pallet.
I would redo the painting if I had the opportunity as the model did move around a bit which made my angle quite awkward, and I would also work with my different shades a bit better, as well as the shape of the model and bench

Here’s a peek at the black card sketchbook I made myself and I made some sketches using white pencil! I love looking at white on black sketches as opposed to black on white sketches!

Here was the ALMOST finished result of my painting of a door in a secretive part of the college. I did continue painting this one as I was happy with how it was coming out compared to others but was left unfinished as the Easter holidays had come

As mentioned in the last post, my fury with the overpainting caused me to start another painting yet again!
Left unfinished today and hope to continue this one too! Colour palettes in my paintings have been extremely similar and I wish to change it up a bit, who knows

Here is a painting I started last week, it’s of the lift doors on the second floor of the college.
As per usual, I’ve overpainted which in the long run, made me detest the painting.
I’ll be continuing it tomorrow to see if it can be improved!

Came in for a bit to do what looks like absolutely nothing but is a step in the right direction
That poor floor suffered many layers of paint as I couldn’t decide how light or dark it was going to be so it was just a continuous cycle of colour.
There are little details there to be noticed too!!

Life model painting I did yesterday with Sylvia’s class.
Many bits could have been done better but alas this was the final piece!

Progress!
This is today’s progress on the group work of our church gallery piece.
Me being me forgot to take a picture of my part of the angel collection we are making / have made.
I have much more work to do on this painting , especially the shading as it will help define the window and its surroundings more.
I have a plan to make more sketches but make my own sketchbook from black card and use black pen/ marker/ pencil to sketch!

Today we began the process of group work, working together to create a large scale painting / piece.
I have chosen to go specifically with a window from the church gallery as that is the basis of our part of the task.
I’ve been very inactive on tumblr and been all over the place in college! New week , full week , fresh start.
I’m working with acrylic paint which in the long run can be difficult to blend but alas , a challenge I can conquer.
