Makes sense, but I never even get my car serviced. It needed an oil change for months now -.-
You know how you need to get your car serviced at regular intervals, even if it appears to be going okay? You know it’s worse to leave it until you have a terrible breakdown, right - because it’s expensive, hard to fix, and other parts of it break as well if you do that?
Well, your head is like that, too. Seeing a therapist at regular intervals is like servicing your engine: it keeps you healthy if you’re healthy, and helps you fix issues early if you’re not doing so well.
Service your engine at regular intervals: it’s a great way to take care of and protect your mental health <3

Bummer and Lazarus were two stray dogs that roamed the streets of San Francisco, California, United States, in the early 1860s. Recognized for their unique bond and their prodigious rat-killing ability, they became a fixture of city newspapers, were exempted from local ordinances, and immortalized in cartoons.
Bummer was a black-and-white Newfoundland or Newfoundland cross who established himself outside the saloon of Frederick Martin in 1860 and quickly proved to be an exceptional rat-killer. His ratting talent spared him the fate of the former owner of the territory, Bruno, who had been poisoned with strychnine shortly before Bummer’s arrival. He scraped a living begging scraps from passers-by and the patrons of the saloon and other establishments along Montgomery Street.
In 1861 Bummer rescued another dog from a fight with a larger canine opponent. The rescued dog was badly injured, with a deep wound on his leg, and was not expected to live. Bummer coaxed him to eat, brought back scraps from his scavenging missions and huddled next to him to keep him warm during the night. The injured dog quickly recovered and within days was following Bummer as he made his begging rounds in the streets. His remarkable recovery earned him the name Lazarus, and he proved to be an even more prodigious ratter than Bummer. As a team they turned out to be exceptional, once finishing off 85 rats in 20 minutes.
Their ratting talent and unique bond was seized upon by the city’s press. Martin’s saloon was a favorite haunt of newspapermen and journalists, so, with the dogs a fixture outside the bar, they never had to travel far for a story. The exploits of the dogs were recorded in detail in the Californian, Daily Alta California, Daily Morning Call, and Daily Evening Bulletin, the editors vying with each other in their attempts to endow the pair’s adventures with thrills and parallels to the human condition. Bummer was portrayed as the gentleman down on his luck, yet still faithful and conscientious, while Lazarus, the mongrel, was cast in the role of the sly and self-serving fair-weather friend. When Bummer was shot in the leg after only a couple of months, and Lazarus left him to run with another dog, it suited the press no end: Bummer was said to be feeling the sting of ingratitude at the desertion of the cur he had saved from death. Lazarus’ return when Bummer recovered only added to the excitement.
The two dogs had the run of the streets, and when, on June 14, 1862, Lazarus was taken by a new dog catcher, a mob of angry citizens demanded his release, petitioning to have the pair declared city property so they could wander the streets unmolested. The city supervisors released Lazarus and declared he and Bummer were exempt from the city ordinance against strays. A week later the two were reported to have stopped a runaway horse. Despite their reputations, the two could be vicious: Bummer was a sheep killer and regularly fought other dogs in the street, occasionally assisted by Lazarus (although normally Lazarus would restrict himself to barking encouragement). They also ransacked shops when they had entered unnoticed and had been locked in by the owners.

*September 16th, 2029 –Alucard returns to the Hellsing Manor after an absence of thirty years.
*All dates marked with an asterisk are an approximate guesstimation, though based as firmly as possible on canon information and timeline. (i.e. “The following day”, “38 hours ago”, “10 years ago”, etc.) Calculations were made based on commercial flight times and the perceived urgency of characters. I also did not state the day, as Hirano did in some of the earlier timestamps, as the date (i.e. Wednesday, June 14th, 1999) did not fall on the stipulated day on the week.
Incidental Things I Discovered Over The Course Of Calculating This:
*That one time when the little boy interrupts Anderson watching the Rio de Janeiro massacre to tell him that “supper’s ready”, was probably the last time anyone at the orphanage ever saw him alive. A commercial flight from Rome to Rio takes twelve hours, and Anderson burst in on Hellsing in their motel room sometime before 8.00 AM the day after they escaped. Ergo, even with a special highspeed Vatican plane, he would still need to leave pretty much right after that scene with the kid to make it to Rio in time to interrogate the local peeps and find out where Alucard & Co. went, then arrange clearance for a nearby Vatican private airfield jet to fly them out of there. And Anderson, of course, only comes back from Rio to get to the battlefield in London, which we all know he does not survive. Furthermore, for security reasons, Anderson probably hadn’t said farewell to any of the kids either (because enemies could come and torture his location out of them if they did know where he went and all that jazz), and if he left in the middle of the night and stopped to say goodbye the kids would definitely want to know where he was going.
*Seras would have become a vampire on July 5th, 1999, and been a vampire for almost three months before she first took blood by consuming Pip on September 15th/16th, 1999.
*Discounting the epilogue/30-year time skip and flashbacks, the entire recorded events of Hellsing take place in almost exactly four months.
*The picture Integra and Maxwell had their meeting in front of, at least as of 2017, is not in the Imperial War Museum. Nor, ironically enough, is the hallway they had their meeting in. My sister and I visited the Museum on vacation during Spring Break, and the only place we discovered with a glass skylight was the center of the very topmost floor, which was devoid of any paintings (or wooden floors) whatsoever.

FREE ART PROGRAMS
So recently I came across a fellow artist who was struggling to find a free art program, and considering dropping the large amount of money for a Photoshop license. I know not everyone can afford such an expensive program, so I’ve compiled a list of programs with no cost to download and use.
Keep in mind all computers are different, so not all will work for everyone. Also, I’ve only ever used Windows, so for the most part, I’m not sure if everything will work for Mac. if in doubt check the website linked.
Photoshop CS2 - (Windows, not sure about Mac.)
FireAlpaca - (Windows and Mac)
Sketchbook Copic Edition - (Windows and Mac)
GIMP - (Windows) (Mac)
Paint tool SAI [cracked] - (Windows) (Mac)
Paint tool SAI 2 beta - (tumblr post on said program)
iPaint - (Mac)
Paintbrush - (Mac)
Pencil - (Windows, Mac)
Paint.NET - (Windows)
Seashore [still in development, ver 0.5] - (Mac)
ChocoFlop - (Mac)
Inkscape - (Mac and Windows)
ArtRage [Demo] - (Mac and Windows)
OpenCanvas 1.1[must pay for 2.0] - (Windows, not sure about Mac.)
MyPaint - (Windows)
Krita - (Windows)
Vectorian [Supports Animation] - (Windows)
Pixia[Japanese, some English versions] - (Windows)
Asperite - (Windows)
Chasys Draw IES - (Windows)
SmoothDraw - (Windows)
TwistedBrush Open Studio - (Windows)
BOUNS - CTRL+Paint [Great for teaching all kinds of stuff, like how to use digital programs.]
If you know more free programs, please add onto this!

Creative Mode Activated
OMFG, there is a high probability for this to work out in the next few years (what's few?!). I've often in the past had really (what I thought) cool story ideas but quickly gave up because I can't draw people worth shit. But now I'm taking a figure drawing course, and I might actually in a year or so be able to start putting my ideas on paper in the way I always wanted. I'm so hyped!!! Let's draw some shitty looking people and make some quality happen 👊🤘👍
