Rock bands used to just write about whatever the fuck. Not to be all "old music was better!" but when's the last time the world's highest selling band released a song about killing people with hammers. The Who made an entire rock opera about a deaf, mute, and blind guy who is so good at pinball that he inspires a cultlike group of devotees who think he's the next christ. It was released at the peak of their popularity and was made into a movie featuring people like Elton John and Tina Turner.
I think classic rock gets a reputation for being all about girls and cars and drugs but for about 15-20 years there were absolutely no rules on acceptable song subject matter. Pink Floyd has a song about a gnome going on an adventure. Alice Cooper has a whole album about breaking out of the Ableist Insane Asylum because he misses his dog. These weren't weird little indie groups, these were all highly successful charting bands getting radio airplay and selling out stadiums.
We need to bring this culture back. No more love songs. Sing about wizards.

If a worker who isn't the owner says ANYTHING similar to "I'm not really supposed to do this but-" and then does something that helps you, under no circumstances inform the business, including through reviews. You tell them that the worker was polite, professional, the very model of customer service and why you like to go there. You do not breathe a word of the rulebreaking.

The Iranian Regime is going to execute rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests of Jina Amini’s murder by the regime in his songs.
Iranian activist Elica Le Bon says, “Iranians in the diaspora picked up on the fact that the regime tends not to execute people who become known to the international community. We have seen many examples of prisoners that were either released on bail or had their sentences commuted through our “say their names to save their lives” campaign on social media, using hashtags to garner attention for their causes, and even before social media existed, through getting the stories of political prisoners to international media outlets. Once reported on, and once the eyes shift to the regime and the reality of its pending brutality, realizing that the action is not worth the repercussions, we have seen them back down and not execute. For that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi. Every comment makes a difference, and if we were wrong, what did we lose by trying?”

As much as I enjoy VaultGhoul as a fun little ship, I’m more willing to bet that Cooper Howard will be canonically placed - kicking and screaming - into a parental role over Lucy.
He’s already got the whole “let me show you how to REALLY survive” shtick going, and now with Lucy’s bio dad being revealed as a massive corporate vault-tec turd, the position has been left wide open.
He will hate it. He will hate it sooooo much when he realizes he actually gives a shit about this no-survival-instincts/peace-on-earth-loving-vault girl and he is going to parent the SHIT out of her because Cooper T Howard does NOT do shit half-assed.

The knocker fell against the heavy wooden door three times, and then he waited in the rain, lurking where the peephole couldn't quite make him out.
It was always raining around here. Almost felt homey, in its way. Dark and wet, wrong things lurking in the shadows.
He jammed his foot into the door as soon as it was physically possible.
"No."
"Jason," he said, all smiles.
"Absolutely not."
"Is that any way to treat an old friend?"
"We're not friends."
"Mr. Blood, then," he said, "but even acquaintances don't leave each other out in the rain."
"Constantine," Jason said, stern. "I cannot do this right now."
"It'll only take a minute," John lied, leaning against the doorframe. This close he had to look upward to meet Jason's eyes, but he was used to that.
John liked to say he was closer to Hell when he said anything at all on the subject. The facts of the matter could change quickly when the topic was a skull's distance from the pavement.

I really think people have lost all grip on what "underrated" "hidden gem" and "cult classic" mean. the fact that people make tiktoks and tweets listing "underrated" media that unironically includes TV shows like Fleabag, or Lost, or includes mainstream English language films that are major studio releases like Annihilation or Stardust or fucking Hereditary - insane! Terms like "underrated" used to mean that the film or TV show was overlooked or ignored by most critics and audiences. The term cult classic was specifically used to describe media overlooked by mainstream audiences but maintained small strong CULT-like followings. A show like Lost that's iconic and achieved permanent syndication is NOT underrated, nor is the multiple Emmy-award winning series Fleabag. Neither of them are underrated in anyway, yet I've seen them referred to as such SO MANY TIMES. it's crazy how terms like "underrated" "obscure" media etc has functionally come to mean: "media I personally didn't know about until recently."

WONDER BAR (1934) | dir. Lloyd Bacon
“The other [scene that stands out above the rest] involved a handsome man, asking a dancing couple if he could cut in. The female partner, expecting his attention, agrees, only to see him dance with her male partner. Jolson then flaps his wrist and says, “Boys will be boys. Woo!”. This scene almost caused the Production Code to reject the film, and was featured in the opening scenes of the documentary film The Celluloid Closet (1996).”

Alright, so to be as transparent as I can, yes we lost a pupper. It was hard, it financially drained us, and I felt awful to even ask for help because it felt like she was an excuse when she was never EVER a problem, I would've given my house or my left arm for that dog. Even so, we are in a financial hole with this, and my calling off work to spend a day with her made work graciously give me a 123 dollar check that I can do nothing with. I have to pay my gas bill and internet, the internet will be off soon and I don't really care much about that but it needs to be paid. We do need toiletries and since my check is already gone to an urgent bill, we need a bit of help with TP and such. All in all, this hole is only about 350 dollars deep. It is not that painful. But it is urgent as well, with it being the due date today for both.
Things will get better. I just need help again, I have overtime lined up 6 days a week until further notice, and I work 12 hour days so I'll basically no-life again in order to get my life back. Such is...life. Thanks for reading.

You can donate to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund for as little as $1.00.
Tumblr media
There is a fee you can choose to apply to cover processing.
Tumblr media
Which if you choose to do leaves you with a total of ~$1.35 (USD) depending on the type of card you have.
Tumblr media
PCRF has a score of 97% on Charity Navigator.
Adults and children alike are currently dying in Palestine due to starvation. (World Health Organization Link)
The Gaza Strip is one of two places in the entire world that is categorized as Phase 5 (the highest phase) on the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification scale.
So even if you think it isn't enough, remember that donating even as little as $1.35 helps! It's $1.35 they wouldn't have had otherwise. So donate if you can. 🇵🇸
