Teaching as a Vocation and Mission
True Calling
When I was in elementary, I always said that I will become a teacher someday. I don't know what came up to my mind to choose teaching. Maybe I just want to call "Sir" of many students like me before or because I just like how they respect their teachers.
When I went high school some of my teachers saying "You haven't took this in elementary? What are your elementary teachers taught you? Even simple things get you complicated". They are always blamed. Being elementary teacher is not an easy profession. They have a lot of work to do, even the other government works, they involved and gives to elementary teachers. That was the time when I really want to pursue education in college.
It was a vacation when my Auntie called me to go to the school of her and help her in her office. She was a Teacher-In-Charge before on the school she was handling but now she is Head Teacher I. She tooks only less than a year to get promoted. There, I helped her doing excels, printing, making designs in her office and more. And that time, I wished that I want to be like her too. After many years of teaching, I want to be a Principal. Handling schools and doing projects to improve it.
Now I'm in college, taking up Bachelor of Elementary Education. My dream is totally in making. And the goose bumps when my Professor in EED explain and discuss the way the teachers do, the preparation, in way on teaching, I really get excited to teach. Just like Sabrina Ongkiko's calling. I know this is it. The path that leads to my dream, never to turned back. I am called to teach young mind. I am here to be their guide. And help them to achieve their hoped-for dreams.

Historical Development of Teaching as a Profession in the Philippines
Every child has the right to an education. Education is more than just a fundamental right; it helps pave the way to a successful and productive future. As we know, it all starts in primary education which they hepls us to improve ourself and be educated.
From the 1987 Constitution Article XIV Section 1 of Education, Science and Technology, Arts, Culture and Sport, it says that "the state shall protect and promote the right of all citizens to quality education at all levels, and shall take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all". Our government provide laws that will help to build a sturdy foundation of education.
The RA 8980 ( The ECCD Act of 2000) is one such law and the day care center one such structure (Republic Art 6972), is one of the objective of the law is for every barangay or village to have at least one day care center worker. It is a policy of the state to promote the rights of children to survival, development and special protection with full recognition of the nature of childhood and its special needs: and to support parents in their roles as primary caregivers and as their childrens first teachers. And the RA 10533 (Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013) is a state that maintain and support a complete, adequate, and integrated system of education relevant to the needs of the people, the country and society-at-large. The state shall create a functional basic education system that will develop productive and responsible citizens equipped with the essential competencies, skills and value for both life-long learning and employment. This law provides for at least one year of pre- school and 12 year basic education (six years of elementary: four years of junior high school: and two years of senior high school).
Our Philippine education system continues to provide facilities, books, things that will help us to grow more and be better for the future. With the help of other agencies, and the perseverance of every Filipinos, we will become successful, and the country too. Continue too educate ourselves, don't be dependent on other on what may they have. You can get all you want, you can buy anything you want because of education you have.
Education is nothing but studying different kinds of subjects to gain knowledge and understanding and trying to apply it in daily life. Education is not only the book knowledge also learning something practically. Education doesn’t mean to just go schools and colleges daily and attend exams, it is meant for gathering knowledge relating it to our lives. Even a robot can read and write, but human being uses the knowledge wisely. It makes a human being, something more than actually he was provided with. Education is not only for utilizing ourselves, but also it can be used to improve other peoples’ lives. - Qoura.

Teacher as a Profession
Does the teaching profession fulfill all the elements of a Profession? Explain your answer.
Yes, to be a professional you must have all the elements of profession. It begin with Initial Professional Education, professionals generally begin their professional lives by completing a university program in their chosen fields – law school, medical school, engineering school, and so on. Accreditation, university programs are accredited by oversight bodies that determine whether the programs provide adequate education. Also it assures that graduates from accredited programs start their professional lives with the knowledge they need to perform effectively. Skills Development for teaching internship which they perform they skills that they learned. And then they will get certification for completing they course and certificate for additional skills in training and workshop. Licensing is administered by a governmental authority, professional get a license after passing the board exam. And teaching profession must have Professional Development, Professional Societies, Organizational Certification and most important is the Code of Ethics.
Why does a profession like teaching require long years of initial professional education and continuing professional development after long, ardous initial professional education?
It requires long years of initial professional education and continuing professional development because becoming a teacher you must know yourself first if yourself fit on the course you have take, what the knowledge of your learners must gain from you, the skills of the teacher must have and the code of ethics. Continuing professional development because its the end of your journey if you are in teaching already. You continue to be ranked and get a high profession in teaching.
Is professionalization synonymous to professionalism?
They are not synonymous but they are connected to each other. Professionalization define as the process in which an action give or train a person in order to raise or increase required qualifications while professionalism is the skill or behavior expected in a person who is trained to do a job well. As a future educator we need these two to be a professional, because to become professional you have to undergo the process of professionalization for you to have a professionalism.

"Steps towards the dream"
“Where there is a will, there is a way. If there is a chance in a million that you can do something, anything, to keep what you want from ending, do it. Pry the door open or, if need be, wedge your foot in that door and keep it open.” —Pauline Kael
Hey! its me, Kael, the one and only. Want to talk about my life? Here it goes. I am Jhon Michael C. Rapisora, 18 years of living in the world that judgements are everywhere. Doing something you'll be judge, be with someone or just a friend you'll be judge. And every move you make will be judge. I don't even know how the eyes of everybody has a bad sight on you though you didn't do anything bad to them. We're not rich as others, we're just live simple. My father is a Tricycle driver while my mother is a house wife. I do have 2 siblings. I am now a first year college student. I was supposed to be a third year but the curriculum had changed. Adding two years of Grade in High School.
I am now studying at Central Luzon State University with the course of Bachelor of Elementary Education - Generalist. Why CLSU? Because CLSU was the only university I took an entrance exam and thank God I passed it. High quality education, peaceful place and one of the ten best school/university in the Philippines. I took EED because we are family of teachers and here are some things that motivates and inspired me to choose it. I do love children, I love being a kid. Like just playing around, eating, sleeping that feeling that you don't have anything to be stressed with. All my relatives are elementary teachers, I like what they do and wanted to be like them. When I'll be a teacher in the future, I want to handle boy scout and journalism. Aside from those things I said, this one has big impact on me to choose being an elementary teacher. When I was in high school, some of my teachers saying "You haven't took this in elementary? What are your elementary teachers taught you? Even simple things get you complicated". They are always blamed. Hey! Being elementary teacher is not an easy profession. They have a lot of work to do, even the other government works, they involved and gives to elementary teachers. That's why If I became a teacher, I'll advance my pupils in learning and ready for their high school journey.
Now, I am staying at Bantug Science City of Muñoz. Because our house are too far from the university. I am with my three classmates in high school. I was the cook here, and acts like they father. Being a college student is very complicated yet exciting. Complicated because you stood with your feet. You do all the things as a independent person. Far from home, far from the family. Different kinds of school works to do, financial problem, misunderstanding of your friends, stress and etc. But it is exciting right? I'll get excited how to solve all my problems. Just like in a game, how to defeat your enemies.
How's college so far?
From my first semester in the College of Education as a student teacher, the life there is not easy and stressful. But with the help of my professors, I gain and build more confidence. They teach us what a teacher's personality must have, the effective way of teaching and many more. From that, it made me more interested in choosing elementary education. And it is not the end of my story but it's just only the beginning how to love and embrace my future self.
