Poll time because I’m curious about a thing. I’ve been noodling on a topic for over a year but haven’t written anything yet…
Respond please without googling or asking anyone! I’m looking to see what the American zoo-going public generally remembers/takes away from AZA zoo visits.

Since Miss Shadow seems to enjoy natural sunlight so much, I built her a sunbathing platform by my desk, so that she can hang out where I can see her, and get used to my presence in neutral situations, where I'm neither feeding/soaking/medicating her, nor actively watching, but rather working at my desk and mostly ignoring her.

Spent 3 hours last night constructing the platform and ramps from old boxes. Glad to see she approves.
Next, I'll be rebuilding her cardboard castle inside the cage. Got some ideas for how to set it up to maximize her floor space.
#I can't wait until I'm in a space where I can actually build stuff for Jima she would love this#tegu#lizard#reptile#reptiblr

I didn't know ornamental peaches were a thing! They're rock hard, tiny, and absolutely adorable.

A gator lovey for a tiny Florida Man™️. I wanted to make it look like the gator is splashing up out of the water, so I started the middle of the blanket part with white and then transitioned it to blue.

Two gators going to new homes today. Both are going to Florida, funnily enough. One is for an infant and the other is for a stressed out 30 year old.

I love making star blankets, every baby I know is getting a star blanket.

I'd link the Anaconda (educational version) video here, but that is about the green annie and this is a yellow! So instead I'll just point out that the first shot there is underwater- check out how different their eyes look submerged versus when their head is out of the water!
New Species Added: Yellow Anaconda

So fun fact: she DID end up breaking it. I bought Jima one but it's currently in storage; she's equally unhinged about it. Tegus love Dog Activity.

every so often I remember this video from @kaijutegu and I get Weepy bc Miss Kaiju was so important to my mental health. may she enjoy many Egg Devices in Tegu Heaven, and may Miss Jima carry on her tradition of not giving a single flying fuck

Ehehehe you can see the board through both layers the gaps are in the right place this is actually gonna turn into a cool blanket that doesn't look stupid!!

I wish this yarn photographed better bc the honey color is so soft and lovely in good lighting.

Fun thing about this eventual blanket- it's for my future SIL and all the panels will be this motif... except for two, which will look like this:

It's kinda hard to see in the pic but it's got a kitty! There will be two kitty panels, one for each of their cats. But what's really special about this blanket is that I stole cat hair samples off of one of my brother's shirts to compare to the yarn so that I could pick one that wouldn't show the cat hair too much. Neither of their cats is this color but the medium tone and slight sheen does a good job at disguising both cats' fur- it's dark enough to hide their gray cat but it's not so light that their pale orange shows up on it.

I wish this yarn photographed better bc the honey color is so soft and lovely in good lighting.
