Honestly, I don't know. This is a meme that went too far and it's not reversible anymore. Also Miku is cute and would never do bad to you. Cannot get any better than this.

[ENG] [mini] - Summer hotness, and what it means to be hot

Many people find that we have warmer and warmer temperature during summers. Since I moved countries (HU to PL, ~600 km north) I notice that people's feeling of temperature differs regionally.

When we have 40 or 40+ °C in HU, it's hardly comfortable even in shadows. We try airing the rooms during night, but the temperature often doesn't drop below 25 °C or higher.

Here in PL it's often 30+ and sometimes 35+ °C, but haven't seen 40 yet. People describe the feeling of this temperature very similarly to how I describe the one at home. However, I find it here realtively cooler and easier to exist in.

When some people came with me to HU during summer, they said it's unbelievably hot and they were suffering for real outside.

This is interesting, since we aren't even talking of much distance, yet the difference. And neither of us ever went to Egypt or to tropical countries. Oh well.

[ENG] [mini] - Public transport, and why we should focus on it

I took a look out of my window and saw a bus driving by on a 1x1 road. It was a Mercedes Citaro G articulated bus. The bus is 18m long and can carry up to 164 passengers. We are in Europe now by the way.

Approximately 3 cars can stand in the place of one of these buses. If the traffic moves, maximum 2. 3 cars carry maximum 15 people if we consider 5 people/car, but we can all agree that most of the time there are less people in cars. Even if the bus is not filled at all, it is much-much more efficient regarding space-usage (and fuel economy too).

Imagine if we swapped all cars to a reasonable amount of replacement buses. I believe we would have so much new free space in cities (hell, even highways) that we would actually need to think about what to do with it.

Also, if we banned all cars from a city, made a bunch of supervised parking lots at the edges where people should keep their cars while they just exist in the city, not only would people (who own cars) be angry and upset, but we would also get major public-transport opportunities to work on.
