today i learned that there was a gay couple in a 1st gen group that caused the group to disband and korean media isnt allowed to talk about them at all and they fled to the u.s. to be safer. i really hope thats not true but it sounds possible. when i learn things like this i feel guilty about shipping kaisoo because if they are real and outed their careers would be ruined just like them and they would be so unhappy. would would kaisoo blogs do if theyre outed, celebrate? it just sounds wrong...

This ask is a couple of months old. Hopefully you are still around anon. 😊

I am not sure which first gen group you are referring to. There was a group called K’Pop but the story of their disbandment is very different than you’ve described. The members were not outed but two members were in a volatile relationship together and their volatility ultimately created a rift within the group which caused them to disband.

They did not flee to the United States AFAIK. One of the members had a moderately successful career after the group disbanded. They performed as the group K’Pop as recent as 2019 2018 on South Korean television.

So moving on…if you feel guilty about shipping kaisoo it could be because you mistake people who are supportive of Kai soo as being the same as people want kaisoo to be forcibly outed. But here’s the thing: a person who is supportive and ships people - real or fictional - as a couple whether the couple be gay or straight is not doing anything other than being supportive of people that they think have chemistry and that they like to see together. Public figures are fully aware of shipping culture. There are companies that even encourage it. There are companies that do not. There are performer’s who play up fan service and there are performers who don’t. A person who would feel jubilant by the forcible outing of a couple or by publishing information that would forcibly out a couple is not someone who supports the couple at all. That is someone who feels entitled to have their suspicions confirmed. That is someone who cares more about what they want. That is a selfish morally superior person who feels that closeted individuals owe the world honesty without looking at what honesty would cost them. And personally I think it’s horrible of anyone to think that they are owed a concrete answer whether or not kaisoo are dating if kyungsoo or jongin are not ready to answer. Maybe it could even be that they are not allowed to answer because their careers and livelihoods depend on their silence. That is absolutely fine for them to protect themselves, their careers and their relationship. And really if it were harmful to them for fans to say, “oh we think they are together and they’re cute together” or for people to fly banners with Kaisoo and other couplings then their interactions would have been minimized as a signal to fans that ya barking up the wrong tree. And yea…we are all assuming but people can safely assume sexuality, not be shouted down and told they are problematic when it comes to heterosexuality and boy-girl couplings so folks should keep that same energy when it comes shipping two guys or two girls. We are allowed to speculate based on their interactions and their words. We aren’t forcing or projecting anything onto them. We are just speculating based on their interactions and words.

When it comes to fandoms who are supportive of LGBTQ+ relationships there seems to be such a negative narrative associated and maybe that is because shippers are stereotyped as forever-alone desperate losers who believe in strange conspiracy theories that fan fiction oppa as gay because they cannot handle it if he is into vagina cause he would never be into their vagina. So they inflate kismet mountains outta coincidental molehills and their ultimate dream is for the people they ship together to be caught inflagrante delicto and outed in the media so they can finally be happy together and yea, maybe there is a minority of disturbed individuals who salivate over those thoughts. But those people exist on the fringes of shipping communities. It’s unfortunate and immature.

People who ship kaisoo because they are genuinely supportive and just want them to be happy together do not want any harm to come to them and being outed without permission is harmful. I would feel sad for them and worried about them. The shipping/support community is very different from sasaen/obsessive stalkers. No one in the kaisoo community that I have encountered AFAIK invades their privacy and fandoms are not responsible for what Korean media choose to report. In South Korea people can be sued for reporting information that negatively affects a person’s reputation whether it be truthful legitimate information or a lie and South Korean media is prohibited from forcibly outing anyone.

Jongin acted as a jelaous boyfriend towards Soyou because they were playing Girlfriend and boyfriend concept in today's episode of " The Devil Wears JungNam 😈".

When he saw that Soyou and JungNam CEO-nim were being too close and lovey dovey he acted jealous! Which is the first time to happen , we never see Ji being too comfortable and open with women on shows, but to the level of acting jealous over Soyou because they acted as boyfriend/Girlfriend seems suspicious to me?!

He even talked about dating in the very first episode and steps of dating a girl and holding hands, and when JungNam told him it's in his third date that he held hands with his GF and kissed her, Ji was so shocked and told him that he should take steps slower and that holding hands and kissing in 3rd date is very soon!

What I understood from it is that Ji is having a lot of dating experiences with girls, means that happened a lot that he started taking about 3rd dates and what to do on them ! because he was talking about how dates should be and what to do on each date and that third date shouldn't be about touching hands and kissing and that is so fast!

I mean if he is with Kyungsoo, means their first dates was long time ago 11 years ago! So why would he talk about third date as if it's a very recent event he had just experienced with his lover?? He seemed as if he was talking about a recent relationship, his expressions and everything he was saying as if he's living that experience very recently? LIKE NOW!! He was talking about what to do on third date and steps to take with the girlfriend to JungNam! And he was advising JungNam not to kiss his Gf or hold her hands on the third date and he said that's not what people do on their 3rd date! And he was being too detailed about what to wear and what to do on 1st and 2nd dates as if he lived them as experiences a lot of times! He said that during first dates he wears cute outfits because girls like Cute Guys ! He was telling his tactics to dating girls to JungNam! He told him you should wear a cute outfit because girls like Boys who are cute and shy at first dates ! So he knows what girls like and he does it! We know he wears his fashion in a cute boy-ish way rather than sexy and suit grown-up sexy Men fashion. He wears bear 🐻 clothes and cute beanies with 🐻 on it, and cute bears 🐻 everywhere on his pockets and 👜 handbags and cute bear 🐻 Hoodie in the shape of Bear ears 🐻. He is being a cute boyfriend material and we saw him doing that and changing his Sexy Manly fashion around 2015/2016/2017 to Cute boy-ish youngster boyfriend fashion with cut bears 🐻 everywhere in his outfits around 2018 until now! And he is advising JungNam to do the same! Like him!!

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not assuming that they're not real, I just have my analyzes and curiosities and this issue doesn't settle well with me.

If he was with Ksoo why would he start talking about their third date and what they did?? Which probably was in 2010 ? 🤷🏻‍♀️

You mean this video where Ji acted Jealous when Jungnam called soyou "jagi" and got closer to her and Soyou saw his jealous expression and laughed. Because they were supposedly acting as her boyfriends and going on date with her.

Tbh I haven't watched the full EP so I don't know how and why he did that expression? Maybe it was scripted? In his script? You know when they bring a noona to a show they tend to flirt with her and appreciate her and make her the queen of the show so MCs and guests have scripts in which they HAVE TO be Teasy and flirty with the Noona Guest. That's what I got from my experience with Korean variety shows.

So the DFTF era is over and with that possible Kaisoo content too. Makes me a little sad but what we got is pure gem. Also the way they were clinging onto each other said loud and clear that nothing has changed between them and they are still the closest just like their debut days. I will never forget Ksoo's uncontrollable giggles at Ji's antics and the way it seemed he was extra whipped for ji. Like gave him more attention than strictly needed and I loved every moment of it.

On the last episode ji spoke up about ksoo's astigmatism and also he supported ks throughout. I mean there are some people who will still say that they are not close but yes not everything is shown.

Just because we don't see Kaisoo going out and having dinner and doing shopping doesn't mean they are not together. So much happens in their lives and only 1-2% we get to know. So...I'm really happy knowing that they are very happy especially Ksoo. We have been seeing ji happy since his debut and now it's Ksoo's turn and I can't wait for the album.

P.S. ji liked Ksoo meme on insta. Now tell me that guy doesn't search for Ksoo pics and videos. 😏😉

lmao chill anon no need to make a whole essay about things that he supposed to do as an ENTERTAINER.. even Na PD said he has natural witty sides which is suit for variety industry, and it just barely a minute teaser so we don't know the whole context about it even if it's true that he acts jealous, for me it's still no a big deal, it's variety show anyways 🤷‍♀️

for his opinion about 3rd date rules lemme see it like this, even if i'm a single i still can give relationship advice to my friend, i don't need to experience it first hand bcs it's a common knowledge (?).. and also remember that he has 2 sisters which is probably the reason why he knows such thing.

and i think there's no difference between dating a woman or a man. so anon i think u need learn to take thing as it is and leave it like that, no need to worrying about something that u don't know and be happy over kaisoo contents lately after all the drought :)
