Plot: During the final battle, Usagi desperately struggles to free Galaxia from Chaos’ control.

TRIVIA

The angelic figure that Usagi saw at the start of the episode resembled Sailor Cosmos from the manga.

Usagi’s monologue at the end was reminiscent of her voiceover from the beginning of the first episode.

A unique ending animation sequence was accompanied by the series�� original opening theme song “Moonlight Densetsu.”

This was one of the few episodes in the entire series where Usagi did not appeared transformed as Sailor Moon. However, she was dressed as Eternal Sailor Moon for a brief moment in the ending credits.

After the ending credits, a message was written on a black screen: “Oshimai da yo” (おしまいだよ). This translates to “It is the end.” Usagi said “oshimai” while Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako read “da yo” in unison.

When Viz’s release of the episode first premiered on Hulu, it was temporarily given a TV-MA rating. This certification was likely due to the nudity in several scenes. It is currently rated TV-14 on the website.

LASTS

This was the last episode in the series. Therefore, the episode notably included the final appearances of Usagi/Princess Serenity, the eight guardian Sailor Senshi, Mamoru/Prince Endymion, the Sailor Starlights, Princess Kakyuu, Chibi Chibi, Luna, Artemis, Galaxia, and Chaos.

“Sailor Star Song” and “Moonlight Densetsu” were both heard for the last time.

This was Takuya Igarashi, Ryota Yamaguchi, and Katsumi Tamegai’s last episode as a director, a writer, and an animation director respectively.
