Have you ever quit an adventure half-way because either of you were pushing your limits?

Pff, of course not! There is no limit when adventuring! Even injury is just a couple of days rest, then up and go again. The only time we’ve cut an adventure short is that time we got lost and accidentally ventured into Mancer territory, and even then, there was a heated debate.

Do you think Ryons love their children more, because they're only allowed to have one?

It depends. I know a lot of parents do. Mine certainly did. However, sometimes, a child simply... isn’t what they wanted, or expected. In that case, the dislike is so, so intense. I remember the way our cook used to look at her daughter. It was equal parts anger and disappointment, and it chilled me to the bones. I was lucky, I guess. Even when I went straight against their expressed wishes, my parents still looked at me with love. A distant, sad love but still love.

This is not a lecture, more like a speech, you really, really, shouldn’t pick up food from the ground after you dropped it! Trust me I know. The ground is freaking dirty, so is that cafe. 

Gee, it wasn’t even there for a second! What’s a little dirt to mission food anyways? I’ve been eating whatever I can find in a forest for the last month or so, this is nothing.

Who would you sacrifice for your Compan Leader's life?

Depends. If I’m absolutely sure she’ll survive, then yes. If I will die anyways, then yes. If my sacrifice would save other lives as well, then yes. If those who are trying to kill is doing it to make a statement, then yes.

I value my life, as I find it quite enjoyable, but in the end mine is just one of many. I aim for the best possible outcome.

The enemy of my friends is my enemy as well. And anyone who tries to kill Yana is automatically on top of my hit list.

Would you consider yourself much of a survivalist, or more of a daredevil?

A bit of both, I guess? I absolutely love a good challenge, something to get the adrenaline pumping, but in the end a value my life and those others above the reckless thrill.

Do you think a big blood battle is an adventure, too?

Not in the same way. An adventure is about fun and exploring. A battle is about survival.

Do you have anyone on your hit list this battle?

My mother used to tell that a Lady never held grudges. Fortunately, I’m not a Lady so there is a list lying on my bedside table. Chrysanthe said it’s unhealthy to get hung up on the past, hence why it’s no longer on the inside of the front door.

I don’t know how to put it in words. Like the sun? She was brilliant, shining. A bit of a temper, but her smile, it was even brighter than the real thing.

What is the sweetest thing you've ever eaten?

A Ryonian pudding. I never caught it’s real name, as we children always called it sugar.sugar pudding. It’s this really fancy dessert that no one really likes, but it’s a part of aristocrats’ culture.

Hm, let’s see. I like rosé wine, and anything with raspberries.

Went out bar hopping with friends in the evening, then hiking with Yana next morning.
