Kami looked a little skeptical when Rae said he was smart as fuck, but then managed a small smirk, because it was sweet. Rae was a really good friend, and was always there to lift people up when it was necessary. “Well, thanks. Guess I’ve gotta a lotta issues I still need to worn through thanks to my lovely parents.” He huffed, and then ran a hand over his forehead. “I’m the walking definition of daddy issues.”

“ yeah, he doesn’t pop in the group chat too much. i think it’s a little busy for him. ” byeongsu shrugs. he likes the idea of going on a double date with kami and dorian, but wondered if jinsu would entertain it due to kami being byeongsu’s ex. “ i’ll have to see if that’s something jinsu would be interested in, and then let you know? he can be weird with stuff sometimes.. especially exes, since he’s never had any. ”

“Yeah. I understand that. I just...maybe it’s wrong, but I miss you. I miss seeing you.” It wasn’t in Kam’s nature to date people and then move on completely without at least staying friends. Once he formed a connection with someone, that didn’t just go away. “Even if we don’t do the double date thing, we could at least be better staying in touch, right?” He asked, looking at the other male like a begging puppy.

Sky gave up and took her AirPods out of her ear, turning to him to engage in conversation. Maybe if she played along then he’d get bored and move onto something else. He seemed like the type to get distracted by other things easily. “Are you having a shit day and need someone to talk to? I’m not suggesting myself, but my good friend is a therapist. Maybe you can talk to him.” It was in that moment when Sky realized who she was talking to. Tee’s ex. “I mean..um…I could refer to my therapist instead. She’d the best.” 

The last thing Kam wanted was to see a therapist. And yeah, part of that was because of Tee, and the relationship they’d had. Imagine dating a therapist?? God, sometimes it really was intense. Still, being told he needed therapy wasn’t something Kam enjoyed. It was actually kind of a trigger, which was obvious in the way his face sank. “Thank you. Point taken. I’ll shut up now.” He nodded, and then turned his attention back to his coffee.

“By selling your soul to the devil at the most opportune of moments,” Rae said with a laugh, but honestly, she was serious. Jeff Bezos was fucking evil. Why the fuck should she have had to grow up poor and hungry while he sat on an empire? “I don’t know much about him, actually, but both he and Zuckerberg deserve each other - in hell.” Rae thought over his business comment for a moment, “God, you know what? I don’t think I even have anything. Except maybe…I’ve thought about how nice it might be if there were an ethical porn company out there that made sure performers got paid and were treated correctly? But I don’t know if that’d be bigger than Amazon. I don’t know that anything could be.”

“Porn, really?” Kam laughed as he shook his head, thought he wasn’t at all surprised that Rae would suggest a porn industry. “I’m tellin’ you, food is where it’s at. Everyone’s gotta eat, right? I need to come up with a better system than grub hub or door dash.” He sighed, and ran a hand through his hair. “I dunno, I’m just not smart. That’s the problem.” He joked.

byeongsu’s eyes widened when he heard that kami was dating dorian. admittedly, he was a bit jealous as he had always found dorian enticing. “ that’s so cool. i really admire him. ” he nods, blushing slightly. it’s nice to see kami happy as well, as he had hoped that the other would find someone nice, if it weren’t byeongsu he was meant to be with. “ i’m happy for you, kami. i really am. ” he nods when kami asks if he’s happy. “ yeah, i am. jinsu treats me so well, which is such a different vibe from a ton of my exes.. not you, obviously, so.. it’s really nice. have you ever met him? ”

Kam nodded along, smirking at B’s words, able to tell that his new boyfriend must make him really happy. “I’ve seen him in the group chat some, but I’ve never met him him person.” Kami admitted honestly, looking up at B through his lashes. It was hard to shake the same feeling they always felt around each other in the past. Things were different now, but still somehow the same. It was an odd feeling. “We should all go out together one night. Like a double date thing, i dunno.” He wasn’t sure if that was an amazing idea, but might as well try.

byeongsu is surprised to see kami so interested in his life; the two had shared a relatively good relationship, except the communication aspect. kami always seemed distant, and to see him actively listening to what byeongsu had been saying brought a wide smile to his face. “ it’s good, i guess, yeah. his name’s jinsu. he’s a teacher, and he’s really nice. slightly clingy at times, but still really good to me.. so, i’m hoping it works out. ” he blushes, feeling slightly awkward telling kami about his love life when the other still made his heart stir. “ it’s fine. i figured you didn’t want to talk to me so i left it alone. anyway.. are you seeing anyone? i can’t imagine someone like you stays single for so long. ” he’s referring to his looks.

Kam actually through on a comical expression when Byeongsu commented that someone like him couldn’t stay single for long. Kami didn’t have the highest opinion of himself, mostly because his parents had drilled into his head that he was endlessly flawed. His self esteem had always been a bit shit. “I was single for awhile, but I’ve recently started seeing Dorian actually.” He knew that would be interesting news to the other male since Dorian had been his long time best friend, even while he and B had been dating. “It just kind of happened, but yeah. I’m happy. You are too, right?” He looked at his ex with a hopeful expression, because he did of course still care about the other, and wanted him to be well off.

Raelynn beamed at him, “Then you could bring me taco bell every day,” she said excitedly, because of course that was the most important part of it for her. “I dunno, I like the plan that those Gen Z kids have - eating the rich. Jeff Bezos goes first, then we make our way down the list.” 

“I’d still bring you Taco Bell every day regardless, I’m just nice like that.” He smirked, and then let out a heavy sigh when she mentioned Jeff Bezos, feeling the color seemingly drain out of his face merely at the thought of that man. “I’m so damn jealous of that asshole. He really just got in the game at the best fucking time. How do you get that lucky?? Must be nice to be richer than God. We need to come up with a business idea that’ll be bigger than Amazon.”

What? To say that Sky was confused was a complete understatement. This man seemed totally not phased after Sky had told him off. Did he not hear her correctly? Was he dense? She cleared her throat as he laughed in her face like she said something funny. “Yeah.” She tucked her hair behind her ear. Guess they were going to have a conversation now. “Nice to meet you officially.” She hummed. “Do you make a habit of talking to strangers when they’re just trying to mind their own business?”

Kam could tell of course that Sky would literally rather be doing anything other than talking to him right now, but that didn’t stop him from continuing to run his mouth. It’s what he did best after all. He pretending to think for a moment when she asked him about talking to strangers, as if he didn’t already know the answer. He had to at least act like he had some form of restraint. “Not everyone wants to talk, but sometimes people do. I’ve made some really great friends by talking to strangers. You never know if someone is having a shit day and just needs someone to talk to.” Clearly that wasn’t sky, but his point still stood.
