Hey ya’ll! Just remembered that I promised ya’ll stuff on my UC oc’s, so here’s one of them!

This is Gerlinde (which means spear in German for anyone wondering), she’s a refugee turned ms pilot at a young age (16). She’s hot headed and impulsive, has a strong sense of justice, and is extremely loyal towards the people she cares about. She’d first turn up during Zeta Gundam, and so far she pilots till the Hathaway Trilogy, retiring afterwards.

In the little UC au I have in my dome, she’d end up piloting the Odysseus Gundam instead of Lain Aim, though she’s not a newtype. Instead, she uses an improved “Reuse P Device” like the one Daryl Lorenz does in Thunderbolt. Speaking of Daryl, another trait they’d share would be that neither of them have their original limbs, thus getting prosthetic replacements, though Gerlinde’s would look more like actual human arms and legs that robotic ones.

Anyway, that tangent aside, Gerlinde is originally the daughter of two Zeonic engineers. Her father dies during the One Year War due to an accident while entering the earth’s atmosphere (don’t feel too bad for him, he’s a massive douche). Gerlinde’s mom then works for Anaheim, and then the Titans, thus leading to her and her daughter moving to Green Noah 2 (Gryps) to work on the Gundam MK.2 project (like Kamile’s parents). During the attack during on Gryps in the first few episodes, Gerlinde and her mom would get sucked into space, with her mom dying, and Gerlinde getting severely injured due to impacts with space debris. Gerlinde would then get rescued by Quattro on his way back to the Argama. Gerlinde would then be treated by medical staff on board the Argama, who are forced to amputate her limbs (don’t worry they get replaced by some old Zeon prosthetic ones right after). She then wakes up as Kamille goes and tries and fails to save his mom. Gerlinde would then join up with the AEUG during Zeta, then fighting with the Gundam team during ZZ, and finally joining Londo Bell a but before Char’s counter attack.

Moving on to relationships! To start, she has feelings for Sukie (another one of my oc’s that I’ll introduce another time). Gerlinde has a kind of sibling bond with both Kamille and Emma Sheen, with Emma also being a mentor to Gerlinde. I personally think she’d have Amuro as a personal hero, and still would after meeting him, though she’d be a bit disappointed. She’d probably distrust Char (especially when he’s going by Quattro). Finally, I believe Bright would end up being a father figure towards Gerlinde.

I think at the start of ZZ she’d find Judau and his friends really annoying, but over time would warm up to them, becoming Frenemies with Judau and his fellow space rats. Tbh, I haven’t seen too much of ZZ so I can’t really comment on anyone else.

On to Char’s counter attack! Her relationship with Char and Amuro would stay relatively the same, but Bright and Hathaway would be a different story. After the first Neo-Zeon war, Bright would take Gerlinde and Sukie in for a bit before the second Neo-Zeon war, since they would have literally nowhere else to go. Over this time, Gerlinde would get really close to the Noah family, especially Hathaway, who would look up to her, similarly to how Gerlinde looks up to Amuro (does not stop the kid from becoming an eco-terrorist though). By CCA, Bright and Hathaway would trust Gerlinde greatly, with her trusting them as well. The biggest change would be that Sukie (one of my OC’s) would join Neo-Zeon, going from being in a relationship with Gerlinde, to both being in a more complex situation after CCA.

Anyway, that’s about how far I’ve gotten to so far lore/relationship wise, but I am working on Unicorn right now! So I’ll just fire off some fun facts right before I go:

1. Gerlinde is pretty tall, like 6’1!

2. Gerlinde also has a prosthetic eye from the accident, but that comes later (it’s the not green one in the picrew where she’s covered in blood)

3. She has a phobia of blood :)

4. TOTAL sucker for sweets

5. Her favorite band (from the old century) would be either White Stripes or The Buttertones. For UC, I have no idea, but she has listened to Eledore’s music on occasion.
