Superintendent of Police, Simdega, Sanjeev Kumar on Tuesday claimed that the mystery behind the death of the two sportspersons will be solved very soon. He, however, refused to divulge whether it was a case of murder or suicide, adding that such disclosure at this juncture would adversely affect the investigations. "We have interrogated several persons in Jharkhand and Odisha and gathered some vital clues. In fact, one of our team is still camping in Rourkela.
They are expected to return in the evening. "The post mortem reports of the deceased to are expected to reach us in the evening or tomorrow morning. The minister also accused Congress leader P Chidambaram of communalizing the issue and said people of Jammu and Kashmir are happy with the decision to revoke the state's special status under Article 370.
Chidambaram on Monday alleged that the BJP scrapped the special status of Jammu and Kashmir as the region is "dominated" by Muslims, a remark condemned by the ruling party as "provocative and irresponsible".
The former union finance minister also alleged that the BJP-led NDA government would not have taken the bold decision had Jammu and Kashmir been a "Hindu-dominated" state. "This is Congress' frustration, despair, and directionless politics. Karan Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Milind Deora, R P N Singh, and other leaders are talking one thing and Chidambaram, Mani Shankar Aiyar saying another thing. The party is in perennial confusion. They never had a clear stand," Javadekar told reporters here.
The union minister of Information and Broadcasting and Environment also said the people of Jammu and Kashmir celebrated Eid happily. "Let me say that after Article 370 people of Kashmir will progress and will get the rights that have been denied to them in the last 70 years. That is why they are happy. People tried and even expected disturbances in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that reduction in the number of Assembly seats for scheduled castes has been given effect vide sec 14 (9) (d) of the J&K Re-organization Act. He said that while extending Representation of peoples Act 1950 to the state of J&K, a new entry has been made in second scheduled of the said Act by virtue of which the effective number of seats in LA of UT of J&K for which polls shall be held has been fixed at 83 out of which 6 seats shall be reserved for SCs.
The said schedule as amended under the JK Re-organization Act 2019 does not provide for reservation of even a single seat for ST category despite tall announcements made by the BJP leadership over the issue of providing political reservation to Scheduled Tribes. He said that such reservations could become available to STs only after amending the 2nd schedule of central Representation of peoples Act 1950 by incorporating a fresh entry with regard to ST reservation which had not been done while passing the J&K Re-organization Act 2019. Harsh Dev Singh said that the BJP stood fully exposed for its melodramatic rants and theatrics over the issue of rights of STs and SCs as both the classes were cheated by the saffron brigade when it came to their political reservation.

While Law Minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad accused the former home minister of making a very irresponsible and provocative statement, BJP leaders Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, also a Union minister, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the Congress was giving the issue a communal angle. Speaking at a public event in Chennai, Chidambaram slammed the BJP-led NDA government on Sunday for ending the state's special status. "If J-K was a Hindu-dominated state, the BJP would not have done this.
They did it only because the region is dominated by Muslims," he had alleged. Defending the decision to revoke Article 370, Naqvi said the government has rectified a very big mistake made decades ago by the Congress. "What he has said is an attempt to give communal color to the issue even though the decision is in the national interest," he said. Chouhan, a former Madhya Pradesh chief minister, said it was the Congress's "narrow mindedness" that it is looking at the issue through a "Hindu-Muslim" prism. Prasad said the decision taken by the government is in the interest of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and their development. Hitting out at the Congress, he asked if it was not true that over 42,000, mostly Muslims, had died in the Valley during decades of violence.

Announcing the deals at the company's 42nd annual general meeting, an agreement has been reached for Saudi Aramco to buy a 20 per cent stake in Reliance Industries' oil-to-chemicals division at an enterprise value of USD 75 billion. "This is the biggest foreign investment in the history of Reliance," he said. "It is also amongst the largest foreign investments ever in India." The deal covers all of Reliance's refining and petrochemicals assets as well as the remainder of stake the firm has in fuel retailing business after selling 49 per cent to BP, he said.
Aramco, the world's biggest crude exporter, will also supply Reliance's twin-refineries at Jamnagar in Gujarat with 7,00,000 barrels of oil a day on a long-term basis, Ambani said. The deal is subject to due diligence, definitive agreements and regulatory and other approvals, he said. He said BP will pay about Rs 7,000 crore for acquiring a 49 per cent stake in Reliance's fuel retailing network. Last week, the two firms had announced a new joint venture to set up petrol pumps and retail aviation turbine fuel to airlines in India.
Reliance's existing 1,400-odd petrol pumps, as well as 31 aviation fuel stations, will be transferred to the new joint venture where BP will hold 49 per cent equity stake. Reliance will hold the balance 51 per cent in the entity, which aims to expand the retail network to 5,500 petrol pumps in the next five years, the two firms had said. "In a significant new initiative, BP acquired a 49 per cent stake in our Petro-retail business. Reliance will get Rs 7,000 crore from BP for this transaction," Ambani said at the AGM. The twin deals will help cut some of the Rs 2,88,243 crore group debt. This is the third joint venture between Reliance and BP since 2011. BP had in 2011 bought 30 per cent stake in 21 oil and gas exploration and production blocks of Reliance for USD 7.2 billion. At that time, another 50:50 joint venture, India Gas Solutions, was set up for sourcing and marketing gas in India.

Welcoming Jaishankar, Foreign Minister Wang referred to the Indo-Pak tensions without directly mentioning India scrapping Article 370 of the Constitution that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. "On the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence, we can have mutually beneficial cooperation.
This is in the fundamental interest and long term interest of our two peoples and also contribute to world peace and human progress," Wang said. At the same time, China and India as two big nations, also have important responsibilities for upholding regional peace and stability," he said. When it comes to the recent tensions between India and Pakistan and the possible ramifications, we follow these developments very closely. We hope that India would also play a constructive role in regional peace and stability," Wang said.
The visit of Jaishankar, the first Indian minister to tour China after the Modi government began its second term, is taking place following India's decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and divide the state into two Union Territories -Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. His visit was finalized much before India's move to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
Jaishankar's visit comes days after Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi traveled to Beijing on August 9 to seek China's support for his country's attempts to take India's move to revoke special status to Kashmir to the UN Security Council. India has maintained that Jammu and Kashmir is its integral part and the issue is strictly internal to the country. Jaishankar's visit is mainly to finalize arrangements for President Xi's visit to India later this year for the second informal summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
