a/n the request was about protective daniel and i don’t know if this is right but i'm pretty proud of this so yeah..

Today’s been a one of a hell day. But not for you, being sick, staying at home and watching drama can’t be that hard, right? But for everyone around you, it’s been a really shitty day. Your roommate - Daniel - got only a hour of sleep because he needed to finish his project, later that day he had a important exam and he still wasn’t home. He wasn’t pickinkg up his phone and it was neraly 11pm. You were about to go back to your room after getting a bottle of water from the fridge but the sound of opening door stopped you in your tracks.

Daniel was finally home, thank god. 

“Jesus, I was so scared, why weren’t you picking up your phone?” you said while sitting on the sofa, waiting for Daniel to sit next to you but he rushed to his room, with his head down without even saying anything.

You just looked at his door in shook. You guys always greeted eatch other and when someone is tired the person can just hum but Daniel did nothing, which was really suprising. Should you leave him alone or knock on his door and ask what happened? Yeah, definitly knock on the door.

You slowly stood up, walked to his door, knocked two times and nothing. Maybe you shoudn’t do that and respect his privacy but you opened the door while asking if you can come in, peeking through the space beetwen door and wall. Daniel quickly turned his back to you and chaotically started to look for something on his desk.

“Y/N, have you seen my, um, notebook to math because i-” you quickly made your way to stand nex to him and point at the green notebook righ next to his hand.

“Is everything all right?” you asked but he looked the other way. “For real Danie, stop acting like a kid and tell me what's wrong.” you raised your voice a little and the boy knew that you’re gonna get more angry from now if he’s not gonna explain himself.

He just sighs and looks at the floor, he waits for you to do something beacuse he’s honestly scared of your reaction. He turn so he can face you but he's still looking at the floor. You carefully put your fingers under his chin and make him look at you. The moment you see his face, you gasp. A cut next to his eyebrown, on his lips and dried blood under his nose and his mouth.

“The the fuck happened?” you ask still not believing what you see. You cafefully take his face in your hands and look for more bruises but you find nothing, thank god.

“I bumped into a pole.” he said and you hand immediately fall.

“Do you really think, I’m really that fucking stupid, huh?” he could hear the annoyed and slightly angry tone in your voice so his eyes immediately were fixed on the floor.

“Sorry.”

“Just sit on the couch, please.” you said quietly. You didn’t wanted to fight with him over something like this but of course, you were mad. Did he got into a fight with someone or did someone else started it? It was a mess.

You took the first aid kit from a cabinet locked in the bathroom and a wet towel. You put the box on the coffee table and opened it. Taking a wet towel, you took Daniel’s chin and maked him look at you. Slighty pressing the towel to his whole face, carefully not to hurt him more, pitiful look in your eyes. 

“Are you gonna tell me what happened or not?” he sighs as you put the towel away and look for a second at the box.

“Can I tell you later?” you press a cotton pad with alcohol on his bruises and he hisses.

“Yes, of course.” he took a pillow from the couch and squeeze it and you giggle at how cute he is. He may be 5′9, have 60cm in shoulders and look pretty buff but he’s still a cute guy who love cats.

After cleaning his cuts you put a gel on them and a hello kitty - that’s all you have at home - plaster at his eyebrown. Quietly you take everything to the bathroom and Daniel is getting more nervous at how calm you are. When you come back he sit straigh and look at the wall, you sit next to him and turn your body do you can face him.

“Daniel, you can look at me you know. I’m not your mom, I’m not gonna scold you.. I hope so.” you put you head on the palm of your hand and wait for him to turn around and he did.

“So..” he scratched the back of his neck.

“So?”

“First of all, I stayed with Jisung after school because he needed to stay in the library for longer and because I’m really good friend,” you rolled your eyes and he laughted. “I stayed with him, then we were at this new cafe, then we came back to school to just sit next to the basketball court, you know.” he snapped his knuchles, he always do that when he’s nervous and don’t know what to do.

“Daniel, calm down, I won’t do anything.”

“After Jisung left, I sat there for a little bit longer and then when I was next to the gate someone said..” he sigh and put his head down. “someone asked how are you doing, and it was Jaewoon, Kyungseok and Hyunknow.” blood was already boiling in your veins. 

Jaewoon and his friends were the most annoying people in your college. These “badass” guys that you always see in dramas, buch of idiots that can only use their bodies and not words.

“Basically they we’re saying things about you and asking about you, and I coudn’t stend them so I told them to fuck off.” he said really quickly. “Then this happened.” he pointed to his face. “The end of the story.” he laugh awkwardly.

It can’t be that easy, right? Daniel isn’t a violent person and he don’t get mad easily.

“About me?" he sighs.

“Okay, I’m gonna say it really fast so you better catch what I’m saying.” he looks at you and you nod. “They we’re saying stuff about what they whould do with you if they we’re roommate with you and asked what we do and they we’re just disrespectful, I really don’t wanna repeat that.” he said on one breath

You, Daniel and your “pack” always stick together and you knew him since you were kids but of course, two people can’t live together and be normal friends? They have to have sex, right? This is bullshit. You sigh deeply and look at him while grabbing his hand.

“I get it, but please, next time just ignore it, okay? I know it’s hard to ignore these kind of comments but please, I don’t want to see you hurt, again.” you smile gently while looking into his eyes and he nod. “Well then do you-” you wanted to stand up but Daniel squeezed your hand and looked at the floor.

“Let’s just sit for a little longer.” he free your hand just to interlock his fingers with your and sit comfortably against the sofa. You just smile and put your head on his shoulder.

It’s prety clear that after the whole situation Daniel is protective over you. Walking you to class and having his arm around you but you don’t mind it.
