The youtube channel of this video is called Community Channel. Please search it seriously as it has lots of fun. The youtuber filming those videos is Natalie. She’s really funny. There is always only one actress in her video who is herself. She always acts like different person at the same time. So, there will be usually more than a same “Natalie” in one shot. That makes the video more interesting. I can see her put much effort in making ‘em. Also, More importantly, she used some hit topics to be the theme of her vdos. That gives us a joint to our feelings.

Big data?

hey guysssssssssssss! 

When it comes to Big Data, what comes out immediate from my head is Digital Marketing. Big data allocate the ability to extract new insights or create valuable products and services based on a large scale of data. And,  We’ve learned about some uses of big data. For instance, It helps us to understand social trends  and understand users’ interests, content preferences, touch points and media journeys etc.

In terms of the project of subject Digital Marketing (A302F), Larry has asked us to search some data on tutorial regarding the design of social media networking or social networking game with some suggestions of the website that we can look deeply to. (For example, google trend) Indeed, it helps us analyze the customers’ insights by getting know about what is the hottest search on google. What it comes forward from that is their interest and insights etc. Our group is working for the Mannings company. We are decided to design a app for theri promotion. Therefore, we have done some research on forums, Youtube in order to get some comments on certain ad of Mannings. Like, we search “Mannings Cat” on different media to know about what do people think of it.

My few understanding of pull and push theory

Hey Hey Yo Yo. I'm Cheuk! Concerning the pull and push theory that we���ve learned from the last lecture, I didn’t gain much understanding on the theory until Vicki had explained them with examples and Chinese explanation. She uses Internet and radio to represent the examples of range of medium attribute. Each of them explains the differences between the categories of the push theory, which are the network attribute, human need, social practices and cultural value. While the Internet has higher range, there will be extensive network attribute. And it will contribute to the desire to learn about the present. Therefore, the social practices will be more diversified. The cultural value ends up be pluralistic. The situation is opposite to the states of radio.

After I heard all this, what’s has come out from my head is the situation between China and Hong Kong. China has lower range and speed of certain medium attribute. It ends up have a centralised and simplified social practices while Hong Kong has a opposite situation. China government has limit the use of media upon the resident such as the YouTube or Facebook etc. Their cultural value is more authoritative when it compares to HK. Byessssss!

First Blog - (18/09/2015)

Hey guys! Hiya ! Hello ! ............(Byesss!)  This is my first first first blog.

The course is talking about the new media culture. I have to say we are all related to the media culture. It’s because we’re using the social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr etc. Media culture is keep developing all around us. And it’s unstoppable. 

Regarding the course, I’m looking forward to the topic of “The dark side of new media” cause we never consider any negative influences brought by the new media as it’s so convenient to us. Also, I feel interesting to the topic of Game culture. Honestly, it’s about Game, why not?!

To look deeper, I wanna know wt kind of Game we will discuss on in the “Game culture”... @@
