🏠Self Employment Career Title Pack🏠

This is inspired by Neia’s Self Employment Careers, so make sure you check them out if you’re looking for a different job title. I have a self employed Archaelogist Career right here, too. I also recommend you make use of the Come and Get it Street Store table that came with City Living, if you have that EP, and grab LittleMsSam’s SimBay mod, perfect for selling your wares online! These are all unpaid careers, meant to fill the career panel for your Sims that make money in other ways. There are no levels, just different branches so you can choose the title most suited to you, and it stops your Sim showing up as unemployed. The game requires at least an hour work once a week, so you can roleplay this as a meeting etc. Cheats available: CAREERS.PROMOTE SELFEMPLOYMENT (You’ll only need this to get past the first level and to choose your branch).

You begin registering as a Self Employed Sim, then there are 13 branches available to choose from; Self Employed Sim Congratulations! You’re now registered as Self Employed with the City Hall. Come on down for our weekly entrepreneur meetings (or not)!

Proprietor Become a Proprietor, and own your own business. Whether you own a retail store, restaurant or café, this is the job title for you!

Horticulturist Do you have a green thumb? Want to make a living out of it? You can become a farmer, florist, grocer… If it grows, you can sell it!

Artist Someday, your art will hang in the halls of a castle, but for now you can sell your own art, at the local market or online. Maybe even to a dealer- someone will recognize your hard work and attention to detail!

Angler Has your love of fishing broken up your marriage yet? Great! You can make a living out of it as a self employed Angler. Sell fresh fish, or mount them ready for sale to a collector.

Programmer If your life is in front of computer, then you’d better be making money! Coding, hacking… It’s child’s play to you, and your second language is Binary Code. Make apps and sell them, or learn to hack your way into bank accounts!

Busker You love the tips you get playing as a street performer, so why not try and make a living out it? The pay might not be great, but if you want to play Pocketful of Sunshine in Simlish over and over, you can!

Composer You love music, but your real goal is to make it a professional Composer. Whether you plan on being the next Mozart, or writing for up and coming musicians, you’ll be responsible for submitting your finished works to be sold.

Professional Gamer Headset? Check! Latest gaming PC? Check! Microphone? Check! Make your money entering tournaments. Oh great, Reticulating Splines…

Collectibles Dealer You love collecting, and whether you’re fascinated with bugs, fossils or treasure hunting, you can make a business out of selling them! Check out your local flea market, sell online or have a yard sale.

Freelancer You do a little bit of this, a little bit of that. No one’s going to judge you for it, and you can place it all under the ambiguous title of Freelancer!

Carpenter If you love making sculptures and furniture, become a self employed Carpenter, and put your woodworking skills to good use. You will have to ask yourself one questions though; why would anyone want a wooden toilet?

Baker So you’ve made a few fruitcakes for your new neighbors, and they LOVED them. Try your hand at making cakes, pastries, and anything else that fits in your oven! Just buy a nice oven, okay? You don’t want Mrs Crumplebottom’s apple pie going up in flames.

Self Employed Writer Sure, you can work for someone else as a writer, or publish your own books from the comfort of home, on your own time. I know which sounds better to me!
