Singapore and Malaysia on a Budget
Hello there! sorry guys that I wasn’t able to continue blogging about my Korea and Japan trip, but i will try my best to write about it. For now, let me write about my most recent trip to 2 countries with a very tight budget.
FYI guys, Filipino citizens do not need visa to travel to these countries, so it’s very accessible for Filipinos. There were actually a lot of Pinoys in both of these countries so don’t you worry about getting lost :)
So first, let me give you some tips on how to plan your trip and get cheap deals online. We Filipinos generally think that traveling, specially abroad is expensive, thus, people think you are rich if you can afford to travel to other countries, but hey guys, it just depends on how you save and spend your money wisely :P In my case, I usually plan my travel ahead of time. And what makes traveling expensive is getting a tour package in the fear of getting lost in a foreign land. It is actually easy to travel on your own with just some research.
First thing that you should do in planning your trip is look for cheap flights, just keep track on airline promos online. Aside from PAL and Cebu Pac, you may also want to try Airasia, Tigerair or Jetstar for budget flights. For this trip, I used 3 different airlines (see below). For the mode of transpo from SG to KL, you may opt to take the cheaper way like bus or train which will cost you less than a thousand. We just preferred to take the plane for convenience. Please see the breakdown of my expenses excluding food and pocket money
Travel Tax - Php 1,620.00
Tigerair (MNL to SG) - Php 2,005.00  (hand carry only)
Airasia (SG to KL) - Php 1,575.00 (hand carry only)
Cebu Pac (KL to MNL) - Php 2,590.21 (with luggage allowance)
Hotel 81 Dickson SG (1 night) - Php 1,645.00
Hotel 99 KL (2 nights) - Php 1,494.00
TOTAL: Php 10, 929.21
For the hotel, we did not really stayed in a five star or something, because basically, we just need it to sleep and keep our things, our purpose is sight seeing and not to stay in hotel the whole time. If you have bigger budget, you may want to book a better hotel, but our hotels are actually ok and comfortable enough to sleep in. For booking hotels online, you may try the following sites: Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, Hotels.com, Asia Travel to name a few. I have already tried these site except hotels.com. These sites also have their promo so keep track of them. I usually use booking.com for pay later hotels. Just a reminder also, please take note of the tax if it is included or excluded on your booking as you might miss it in budgeting your money.

For changing money from peso to other currencies, since I work at BDO, i change my money there of course, I just keep track of the exchange rate. If they don’t have available forex, you can use Czarina or change your money at airport, just be mindful of the rate.
So that’s it for now guys, please stand by for my next post about the trip itself and i will also be posting pictures. Thanks for reading my post and for unfollowing me hahaha
xoxo

Japan Visa Requirements for Filipino Citizens
Hello There! I’m officially back to real blogging haha! Since I started working, I did not get enough time to do a real blog, I just usually post pictures linked from my IG account (follow me guys, I follow-back @kareen_1030). So this is it, I’m gonna blog about my third trip abroad, but I’ll also try to post about my Taiwan and Korea trips, I’ll try to remember the details as much as I can hahaha.
Filipino citizens need a visa to travel to most countries including Japan, it’s quite difficult to get a visa but as long as you provide all the requirements needed and you are consistent with the information that you have provided, you have a high chance to get approved. Just prove to the embassy that you have no intention of being a TNT, if you are applying for a tourist visa. So what requirements do Japan embassy has? You may see complete details at their website here.
Unlike other countries, you cannot personally apply for your Japan visa. They only have some accredited tour agency that provide visa application assistance. Here are some of them as listed on their website:
1.  UHI
2. Discovery Tour Inc.
3. Rajah Travel Corp.
4. Reli Tours & Travel Agency
5. Attic Tours Phils Inc
6. Friendship Tours & Resorts Corp
You may visit this site for complete info. In my case, I applied through Discovery Tour Inc. They had a promo last year which only costs P 500.00. I applied for my visa last December, got the approved visa in less than a week. Tourist Visa is only valid for 3 months from date of issuance, so you have to consider about the date of your stay before applying for your visa. For single entry, maximum stay in Japan is only 15 days.
Next post will be my actual trip, so keep posted guys! Let me know if you have questions about your visa application, I am very much willing to assist you :)
