Notes:
4 shots have been cut
every shot has been at least bare bones animated
colorists are cooking with gas
fully in cleanup mode
sound design is done, just need to mix everything together and level it out
composition is um, in a weird spot but I'll go into more detail in meeting
hoping to have a week to composite a couple scenes (specifically with the launch) to give them more oomph
hoping backgrounds will be done in the next two weeks, I've been communicating with my artist and he's also cooking as fast as possible (and I've done a few as well just to get the ball rolling)
overall: I'm feeling tired but I know I can't rest yet, every shot I finish and see colored is motivation to keep going so I can see the characters I've spent the last year with come to life on that giant screen.

Updated cut, I got rid of three scenes and there's one more scene that I might cut down as well. I had to pivot with my approach to the launch, it's been giving me a lot of problems but I'm hoping I can figure it out tomorrow.

Next Course of Action
This week I'm jumping back into animation full swing, there's a story internship app due at the end of the week so I had to take a minute to clean up my animatic in order to update my portfolio but I'm mostly happy with it now. Backgrounds are making progress as well.
Goal of shots to touch/rough this week: 10

Week Overview
This week, I rearranged my entire shot list to make it fit my brain and not what I thought was "the right way to do it". I discussed in an independent meeting that I sometimes struggle to work on one thing at a time as my attention tends to shift when I get bored or worn out on a particular shot.
Vee recommended I go through all of my shots and recategorize them based on what seems fun, what seems hard, and what seems boring but will get done regardless. So I added a section to my spreadsheet with these labels:
Meal- A beefy shot that seems hard and will take a decent amount of time
Snack- easy breezy shots that will take little to no time
Fun!!- self explanatory
Boring- shots that are necessary but not what I would want to do for hours at a time
Throughout the week, I chose one of each of those shots to test how effective the system was and I'm happy to say that it worked! Every day I opened my meal shot to chip away at the progress and when I would get fatigued while working on it, I would switch to a fun, easy, or boring shot to work on to cleanse my brain.
And when I would get fatigued with animation period, I would move over to color blocking backgrounds for my background artist to work on.
There are still things that I need to work on regarding my efficiency, but this has been the most productive week I've had in a really long time. Turning the habits in my brain that I often dislike into an actual process was such a crazy experience because suddenly I wasn't beating myself up for not finishing one shot before moving on to the next, I was chipping away at a film that will come together in the end.
My next goal is to figure out a progress tracker for milestones that actually works for me, I was really stumped trying to make one this week. I know that I function well on weekly goals and checklists, but I will ask what the recommended milestones are for this semester and work around that.
