Well, ummm, this town isn’t, ahhh, that big so....

Evan began walking a little, while he made sure she was joining him. “I hope the place is not too far..”

“Oh don’t worry about it, she honestly loves it. Besides it keeps her mind of stuff these days.” She told her shrugging her shoulders.

KATHRYN GRAY is SEVENTEEN and is a SENIOR who is attending ROXBURY HIGH. She looks just like KATIE FINDLAY and is currently TAKEN.

PAST

Back in England Kathryn was known for being pretty quiet. At least that is how things had been like in the end, when she’d let everything go. She always felt like she was going through the motions rather than living. Kathryn didn’t want to tell anyone, but in reality she felt like she was drowning. After that tragic night, she’d had no friends, no social life, and most days nothing to do. Kathryn wondered how she would even survive, because the fact that she had nobody to talk to really started to get to her after a while. Kathryn wanted more than anything to have a fresh start, and a chance to be happy again. She wanted to forget her past, and move forward. Kathryn wanted the simple things, like friends and to fall in love.

Now in Roxbury Kathryn is determined to turn her life around. When her parents told her she was allowed to go to America, it had been the blessing that she had waited for. She was finally getting the chance to be someone else, and turn things around. Kathryn became obsessed with trying to make friends and be happy. Adjusting to Montana hadn’t been as easy as she hoped, but she refused to give up. It was going to be the place where she found herself, it was going to be the place that saved her. Kathryn was going to make her Senior year of high school matter.

PRESENT

After the shooting, Kathryn found herself beginning to fold into herself again. She didn’t really know how to deal with everything, or who to talk to about her feelings. She’s been working at the mall that day, and had witnessed most of the violence. Kathryn found herself unable to cope with the horrible images, and found herself having a lot of nightmares. She just wanted to make things stop, but was unsure how to do so. Now Kathryn spends most of her time alone at her aunt’s.

Yeah, ummm, hoping she won’t, ahh, go that extreme.... I’d ummm, feel bad if she went, ummm, crazy just for me.

“Alright, good.” She smiled her way, before fishing up her phone from her pocket and quickly texting her grandmother. “My nan is always excited to have people over to try her food, so I hope she doesnt make too much stuff.. I mean, I love her tacos, it is just eating it every day for a week gets a bit much.”

Yeah well, ummm, that is, ahhh, understandable.

Ummm there used to be a mexican food back in the mall, but the owners fled after…you know…that.

Well, ahhhh, I guess I’ll have to, ummmm, go to the food court then... Ahhh, thank you for the help.

Well there’s a diner…or whatever piques your interest at the mall’s food court. Other than that, you’re out of luck without a road trip to the next town over.

Yep! It’s the first time I’ve actually been able to do a play, I’m really excited!

Evan shrugged his shoulders. “No, I don’t have anything planned for today, and all this talk about food had made me hungry anyways.”

Tacos? Yeah, there’s a couple good places in town actually, only one’s pretty close though.
