#TBT to the first show I ever did. I was Thumbelina in our small-town theatre's production of the musical Hans Christian Anderson. I was the youngest and the smallest by far. The director asked me to choreograph my own dance for the song about Thumbelina, and that song has a warm place in my heart to this day. 💗 I have been singing and dancing every day this week as we're rehearsing #TheMerryWidow at #tacomaopera. I wonder what that little girl would say if she knew that someday she'd be choreographing entire operas! 👣

3 years ago today I stood on the spot where my ancestors got on a ship and left Sweden forever. Lilacs were in bloom all over Malmö and I soon learned their role in my ancestral story.
