My brain recently grabbed onto Spy X Family and won’t let go, enough to pull me from the depths of art block!

This is a scene from a fic called (Very) Stupid by @unhappy-sometimes

It’s such a silly fic and made me laugh so much, I’d draw every scene from it if I could jjjdkdjmdsj definitely give it a read if you’re interested

Anyway sorry this isn’t my usual content I’ve been trying to find motivation again to draw and post even if it’s not LMK. Hope you still enjoy!

im back baby. with my au i made before season 4-5. all i had to go on was the felix episode and a dream. everyone deal with the au where i give adrien a little brother in the most convoluted and insane way possible. and they have the dynamic of all time.

the basic premise is that adrien gets to see a younger version of himself. imperfect and childish and he realizes he was still worth loving. he was that tiny and little and he was treated wrongly. and this tiny adrien gets to see a "perfect" version of himself that was made specifically for his parents and how it still wasn't enough. its basically an au where adrien reconciles with his shitty childhood via getting a new brother. and they both eventually get some selfhood. or whatever.

If I was evil and went to visit someone's home for the first time and I know they have a cat, I would rub my wrists with catnip before leaving the house, so when I get there the cat smells the catnip and is all over me purring and rubbing on my hands and the owner is like "omg my kitty loves you! That's never happened with a stranger before!" and immediately trust me because they have no idea that I jammed their cat's evil detector on purpose.

ladrien is cool in its fuckedupness because it's so comfortably distant. they're both in their fake personas, they know the other is in their fake persona, and they're entirely willing to and enthusiastic about keeping up the charade. every interaction feels scripted and they both love this about it. there's never any danger in it because they're never required to be vulnerable whatsoever. they never have to be honest, they never have to be genuine, and they never expect the other to be genuine, and there's probably some twisted sort of comfort in knowing that the other person is never expecting you to take off their mask.

marichat is cool in its fuckedupness because it's so uncomfortably close. they both know each other so well but are unable to admit why, so they're just overly-friendly and don't have boundaries where they arguably should. there is no pretense to be civil or respectable so marichat comes with the grossest jokes and awkwardest silences and flippant displays of bad behavior. chat has no idea what proper boundaries should look like when someone isn't Using A Mask, and marinette is in no position to draw her foot in the sad because being authoritative is for ladybug!!!
