Happy pride month to my dad. When I came out as bi to him, this man googled what it ment, look at me and said "ohh. Yeah. You get that from me. You'd have far more siblings of I only shaged women." And went right back to his work emails.

i can’t stand “it’s not that deep” attitudes like even if it really really isn’t that deep just PLAY WITH ME. just fucking PLAY. have a meaningless but deep analytical conversation with me. just like think about shit for fun. does anyone else like to think about stuff for fun. it’s so lonely

I have some news for members of the united states armed forces who feel like they are pawns in a political game and their assignments being unnecessary.

when I was a kid I wished I had nosebleeds. I had some friends who had them and I was like. that looks so fucking cool. you're just sitting there and suddenly you're covered in blood. it looks so dramatic. it looks so... and here my language failed me. at such a humble age I did not have the vocabulary to describe the sublime. I just sat in incomprehensible jealousy. I turned out totally normal by the way

"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you 🙄" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence

went into a wine shop the other day to buy pasta and they did not have pasta but they were doing a wine tasting so i thought what the hell. and got to chatting with the other woman there because we had both just come from the library and were comparing our books and sipping wine and turns out we’re both teachers so we got on the topic of phones in classrooms—and the guy pouring our wine was like ‘that’s actually a point of contention in one of my divorces right now.’
and i very delicately said ‘one of your divorces?’ and his eyes got really big and he said I’M A PARALEGAL

thinking about the two popular interpretations of why natalie takes the harmony in the final chorus of superboy and the invisible girl which are
a) she's actively forced onto the harmony by gabe which is representative of how she always loses the attention of her parents to him
b) she takes the higher harmony on purpose to try and rise above her brother to get her parents' attention
which is fucking devastating and frankly i don't wish to pit them against each other because i think they're both interesting interpretations but i've always seen it as symbolic of how as she drifts further up musically, natalie is drifting further from her parents and it being almost a warning that they are going to lose her just like they lost their first child (the repetition of ''she's not here" interpreted as her trying to convey that because they've never seen her, she might as well not be here and soon she might not be at all) which i don't think really holds up in the greater scheme of things but is fun to think about !
