As assistant principal of Brooklyn, New York’s Performing Arts and Technology High School (PATHS), Kavita Gupta brings 10 years’ experience in public education to her position, along with a solid record of success in school leadership and program development. At PATHS since 2012, Kavita Gupta has furthered the school’s mission by implementing administrative best practices, acquiring grant funding for minority students, and improving its graduation rate. Prior to PATHS, Ms. Gupta spent two years as principal of the Brooklyn Academy of Global Finance, during which time she oversaw the restructuring of a traditionally underperforming high school in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. Earlier in her career, she was an aspiring principal in the New York City Leadership Academy, a math teacher at Manhattan Hunter Science High School, and a seventh- and eighth-grade math teacher at Rafael Hernandez Dual Language Magnet School in the Bronx. Kavita Gupta holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College, an S.B.L. certificate in education administration from Baruch College, and an M.A. in secondary math education from Lehman College, as well as an M.B.A. from New York University.
