I love engaging with my readers! It's one of my most favorite parts of writing.
Do readers like it when a writer replies to their comment? I always get excited but I don’t know if it’s universal. I want to reply to reviewers (even just a “thanks!” on the short ones) but I don’t want to seem annoying or overbearing. I also worry that if I just reply “thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed!” on some and give a more detailed/personalized response to others, it’ll look rude. I know you’ve answered similar things before but I worry a lot about that last bit specifically.
Readers? Chime in please :)
Personally, I love whatever response I get. A simple thank you makes me feel good for having done something nice for someone. A longer response makes me feel over the moon for having prompted it. A back and forth conversation as a result? I now have a new best friend!
