I need to know, what are your fanfic pet peeves?

And I don't mean "no use of punctuation" or "walls of text" or "a lot of misspelled words"

I mean something that really shouldn't be a big deal, but for some godforsaken reason it just bothers you.

For me, it's when people try and make things logical/realistic while keeping everything else basically the same (in other words, it's not an AU and it's not a HC):

Character naturally has bright pink hair? No, they dyed it.

Character has purple eyes? Contacts. Their eyes are actually blue.

Character is great at everything they do? Nah, they're only good at some things.

Character actually has powers? No they don't.

Female character has a big chest? Her chest is small and "normal" sized.

Etc., etc., etc.

And it's like, no fucking duh, it's fanFICTION. Keyword FICTION. As NOT FUCKING REAL!!

It's one thing for me to see it as a headcanon. And I'll accept them in fics if they're mentioned either in the tags or in the author's note (and it doesn't have to be "I headcanon this character to do this" it can be "I used my headcanons").

But I fucking hate it when it isn't. I don't know why, but it just ruins the fic for me. Like, there's no mention of an AU, of headcanons the author has that they want to include, it's just straight up "I'm applying logic/realism to this thing that has little to no logic/realism to it."

God, I'm so happy the YuGiOh YT channel has the 24/7 YGO series livestream.

It's genuinely fun to wake up and see what series and season is on.

Currently watching YGO GX S2, my favorite season of GX.

This is very specifically centered around GX but I'll get to DMs and 5Ds eventually.

Who would they (the GX characters) listen to the most (in other words: what's their favorite unit)?

Jaden listens to everyone, but VBS is his favorite.

Chazz and Aster are the same in the case that they both love and claim their favorite group is Nightcord, but their actual favorite group is MMJ.

Zane is straight-up just a Nightcord fan.

I was gonna say Alexis' favorite group is MMJ, but the more I think about it, the more I feel she would be into Leo/need and have them as her fave.

Atticus, on the other hand, loves MMJ. Adores them.

Syrus mainly listened to Nightcord because of Zane, but his favorite might be VBS (and he will argue that it has nothing to do with them being Jaden's favorite group).

Bastion seems like someone who'd either favor Leo/need OR just prefer the VS. There's no in-between.

Jesse is a BIG fan of WxS. He likes their whimsy.
