My Bones Hurt (Free verse)

My bones hurt

Not in a way that makes sense

In a way that sounds crazy

My bones hurt

In the way that I can feel them under my skin

It is the way that I want to dig them out

My bones hurt

In the way that makes it hard to get out of bed

In a way that makes it hard to do everyday chores

My bones hurt

They rub together

They pop in ways that make people look at me strange

My bones hurt

When I try to explain how or why they hurt

I get confused looks

Like its not something that happens to ‘Normal’ people
