He reaches upwards, to adjust his mask, (A telltale sign of him being some sort of emotion) his eyes averting his gaze, “Consider it forgotten.” Of course, it wasn’t, he hasn’t done anything to her, when all they had were each other and Shinki– he takes those bonds very important.

Her eyebrows furrowed together, and her hands balled into fists at her sides. 

She was just so angry with herself that she had hurt Araya. That was the last thing she wanted to do but sometimes... She just got defensive. It was a bad habit and she was trying to stop doing it around her teammates.

“No, I won’t,” She reached out and grabbed the other’s sleeve. ”Tell me how I can make it up to you.”

“Good.” It’s stated casually, as his hair is pulled back into a bun– don’t tell anyone, no one can know. And he’s wearing the apron that he was given so very graciously as a prank– but it’s coming in handy since it’s keeping him clean– not to say anything about the rest of a mess of a kitchen, “I’m not sure yet. I’m experimenting. What do you want?” Oh no Yodo– that’s not good. 

“Hmm, doesn’t matter to me,” Yodo brushed off a portion of the counter before pulling herself up to sit on it. Kicking her legs lightly against the counter, she watched Araya, curious as to how he got so much all over the counter.

“I’ll eat whatever you make.”

          His cloak slowly moved as he sat there, it moving as to provide Yodo with a blanket. It might not be the best means of warmth, but it would do, like a weighted blanket. He did not know if it gave her any comfort, but he liked to hope it did, especially with Araya not in yet.

          “Not too long, at least I don’t think so. Unless I fell asleep,” which was unlikely; he could be a light sleeper, and Yodo’s footsteps could have woken him. “Did everything go well, today?”

“Oh, well sorry if I woke you up,” Sighing, she rolled over so she was on her back looking at the ceiling. “And today went well for me.”

She yawned before closing her eyes, covering her mouth then resting her arm on the iron sand that was serving as a blanket. She felt safe with it over her, it had always been a comforting weight and now was no different. Honestly, soon, she’d have to force herself to stay awake.

“How’d it go for you?”

A part of her wanted to hide her face so he couldn’t see the blush that was slowly spreading across her face and another wanted to lean up and do the same. She loved Kankuro and he was slowly becoming the closest thing she had to a father figure but a part of her was worried... 

Worried that Kankuro only thought of her as a student and not as family. Worried that he would treat her differently if she said anything. Worried that she would ruin their relationship...

And so, Yodo kept eyes practically glued to the ground, too embarrassed to look at Kankuro or say anything.

Headcanons list!

Yodo is actually terrible with directions. She’ll mix up left and right and has trouble remembering which way is north. She avoids being stuck with directions and always prays that she doesn’t get stuck with the map.

As for relationships, Yodo is still very young and has only had platonic relationships. The two people she’s closest two are Araya and Shinki so she’ll play-flirt with them and while she means it, she isn’t interested in being in a romantic relatioship with them. She does think they are both handsome, strong, and the whole shebang but they are her family.

She hasn’t wanted to be in a romantic relationship with anyone yet so she doesn’t have a type and she hasn’t been attracted to anyone in that way so she doesn’t know her sexuality yet.

Headcanons list!

People calling her pretty or just complimenting part of her appearance will usually get her flustered. She really thinks she isn’t that pretty and so whenever someone says she is she gets super embarrassed.

Training in front of people who aren’t Shinki and Araya/the Sand Siblings will usually cause her to be flustered and make mistakes so she usually has to do some training by herself in addition to group training.

Being with Shinki and Araya usually put her in a good. Praising her skills in battle/training is also a good way to make her happy.

As for thing s that make her happy, she really likes thunder storms and gets so excited whenever they happen (but rain freaks out her out so she prefers the storms in Suna to anywhere else). She also really enjoys having her hair played with, such as having it brushed or braided.

she’d love to travel with Shinki and Araya, anywhere or anytime. just going out and spending some time at festivals or even just visiting other villages would be a dream come true for her.

HC THO !!! that Yodo when she first began learning poisons from Kankuro that she accidently poisoned both of her teammates when she was trying to give them something to relieve the pain. (And she had just been chewing them both out for being reckless.)

i can see it tho. 100% totally happened and she had to run to Kankuro and explain why both her teammates were in the hospital when they had only been doing light sparing and should have been fine

if she has time to kill she will usually be reading up on or practicing medical ninjutsu. she’s not very good at it but she can do enough to take care of her teammates on missions and if they get hurt during training. but she’s heard stories of chiyo, tsunade, and sakura and all the good they did during the war and yearns to be just half as good as they are

aside from that she’ll usually just spend time with her teammates watching them train or just lounging about

✮ - sleeping habits

she sleeps either on her stomach or on her side curled in a ball. she will often kick the sheets off soon after she falls asleep then not move much for the rest of the night. when it’s cold its not uncommon to find her in the exact same position as when she fell asleep with the blanket wrapped around her like a cocoon. 

she actually has problems sleeping alone and can’t sleep without knowing there is someone near by. this is good because her and her teammates usually sleep in close proximity or even in the same room depending on how tired they all are

if she’s alone at night and cant sleep, she’ll go out for a run or do some training to tire herself out so when she gets back to the apartment she will literally just pass out.
