Predictions/Expectations/Hopes for Fire Emblem Direct
Since the Fire Emblem Direct is tomorrow, January 18, 2017, at 5:00pm ET/2:00pm PT, I thought I would post my predictions, expectations, and hopes for the direct.
Predictions/Expectations: -Information on Fire Emblem mobile: Nintendo said it would release sometime in Quarter 1 (January-March), most likely in February or March. -Information on Fire Emblem Warriors: This will probably just give us a brief explanation on how this game came to be. We might get a few characters confirmed aside from Chrom. We might also get a release window. Holiday 2017 or early 2018 most likely. -Some information on Corrin amiibo (and in extension Cloud and Bayonetta amiibo): We need information on when we’ll be getting these amiibo already!
Hopes: -Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation Switch Port: If the source code for the Fire Emblem Warriors official site is accurate and does indeed mean we’ll be getting a Nintendo Switch port of Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation, I’ll be happy. It would be nice if it’s a launch title, which it could be if it’s just a direct port. If it receives a few updates to character models and a few gameplay mechanics, then it might be a Summer 2017 or Fall 2017 release. The port could also work in Roy and Corrin amiibo compatibility. -Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade & Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken HD Remakes for Nintendo Switch: This is mostly a lofty hope of mine because come March, it will have been 15 years since The Binding Blade came out. I feel like if they did a HD remake of the Binding Blade, it would be great if they also remade Rekka no Ken and had the option for you to play Rekka no Ken before OR after The Binding Blade. You could also customize Mark, but he/she wouldn’t have much impact on the story aside from their already established role. -Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Gamecube Virtual Console release for Nintendo Switch: There’s already rumors that we’ll be getting Gamecube VCs on the Switch. It would be amazing if Path of Radiance was one of the first to be released as a Virtual Console. -New Fire Emblem amiibo: It would be cool if Nintendo announces a series of Fire Emblem amiibo compatible with Fire Emblem Warriors. -Fire Emblem Fates artbook: It would be amazing if we get a Fire Emblem Fates artbook. Something more than what we got with the Special Edition -Fire Emblem Series Artbook: An artbook collection or series of artbooks covering the artwork for the entire series, sans Awakening since it already has a HUGE artbook for it. -OFFICIAL Fire Emblem merchandise: Obviously, Japan already has a plethora of Fire Emblem merchandise out there. It would be cool if North America, Europe, and PAL regions got official merchandise as well. Outside of figures of course.
So there are my Predictions/Explanations and Hopes for the Fire Emblem Direct tomorrow. If any of my Hopes come true, I’ll be happy and I’ll pre-order immediately.

Top 10 Favorite Game-centric YouTube channels
So prior to 2012/2013, I rarely used YouTube. Was never a huge fan of watching videos on my computer. This has changed drastically the last four to five years now as I watch YouTube videos on a daily basis and I use it as a way to enjoy games that I have very little access to. Getting into the thought of doing Let’s Plays or video game related content on YouTube (I AM a journalism student who would love to do video game journalism) was mostly thanks to Sagemaster15′s Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward Let’s Play.
Anyways, my top ten video game-centric YouTube channels have changed a bit since then. They are (in no specific order): -Sagemaster15 -- It’s thanks to Sages that I got into watching more YouTube videos and Let’s Plays. Throughout the years, I’ve gotten to create a few art related stuff for his Let’s Plays (even if they were short lived series) and I feel like I can consider him my friend. When he, DungeonKeeperKish, comicfire, and Trev get together for videos, they can be great and entertaining. -ChristopherOdd -- Mr. Odd’s take on doing Let’s Plays is one of my favorites because he’s always more about the story and experience of the game. He doesn’t just play the big new releases that a lot of Let’s Players play. He also focuses on smaller indie games that are still very enjoyable to watch. -NakaTeleeli (@nakateleeli) -- Naka does a variety of kinds of let’s plays. They range from smaller games made by a single person for Ludum Dares to lesser known games and fan games to better well known games like Persona 3. He’s also known for his Dancing with Primals series, which deals with the Primals of Final Fantasy XIV. He’s sometimes joined by Madame Berry and ElementalOgre. Overall, I enjoy his videos. -lucahjin -- I’ve only been subscribed to Lucah for a little over a year now, but her videos have been very enjoyable. -MasaeAnela -- Another YouTube channel that I haven’t been subscribed to very long, but Masae’s videos have become some of my favorites. Her commentary is enjoyable and through her, I was able to enjoy Tales of Vesperia, a game I’ve always wanted to play, but never got the chance to. -GameXplain -- Andre, Derrick, and Ash provide great insight on new and upcoming games. The analysis trailer that Andre and Derrick do reveal interesting new hidden information that might normally be missed. Though, some of their videos can seem to be a bit unnecessary. -HCBailly -- HCBailly tends to focus on JRPGs of varying kinds. He also provides great information for the games he’s currently playing. -outsidexbox (@outsidexboxofficial) and OutsideXtra (@outsidextra) -- I’m going to include these two channels as a pair because they are a pair. OutsideXbox and OutsideXtra provide similar content (lists, gameplay videos, and Show of the Week/Show of the Weekend). OutsideXbox was the first channel created and was created by Jane, Andy, and Mike. They’re a great trio of gamers who provide great entertainment. OutsideXtra is a relatively new channel with Ellen and Luke (with appearances from the OutsideXbox crew) that provide similar content, but with a more wider focus than OutsideXbox who focuses primarily on Xbox games. -RenegadeConstabulary -- Tek and Vasco of RenegadeConstabulary are a great duo. I found them via their Resonance of Fate Let’s Play, a game I wanted to learn more about because of Project X Zone. Since then (circa 2015), I’ve been a fan of theirs.
