MILEY CYRUS
Last night I went to one of the greatest concerts of my life. I would definitely rank this concert in my top 3 list, which is pretty competitive based on all the concerts I have been lucky enough to go to. Last night I went to a concert that most people would probably have died to go to five years ago, laugh about going now, but secretly would still die to go to. I WENT TO SEE MILEY CYRUS. Yes I was lucky enough to get tickets to the ultimate concert of my generation right now. I witnessed history. I saw Miley Cyrus. My roommates and I purchased our tickets back in November during the pre-sale because one of our roommates has American Express which gives you access to the pre-sales for concerts, games, etc. Our seats were dead center, straight back, but not too high up. I was definitely pleased. Getting to D.C. for the concert was another issue. We knew we would be taking the train there and back, but for some reason all of us were under the assumption that the train from D.C. came back to Baltimore all night, or at least until midnight. Well to our surprise, when we got to Penn Station to purchase our tickets, we had to find a plan B because the last train was leaving D.C. at 10:30. We were scrambling trying to figure out what to do coming back, that we ended up missing the train at 6:15pm to D.C. and were stuck waiting for the next MARC train at 7:35. The concert started at 7, which meant Miley was probably going on at 8:45pm. Wrong. By the time our train got the Union station in D.C. and we caught a cab to the Verizon Center, Miley had been on stage for 35 minutes (we got there at 8:50). I was so mad because it was two of my roommates’ fault that we were late to Penn station in the first place. They decided they needed to fight over something so ridiculous and stupid, just dumb. They were still fighting the whole night so I just ignored them at the concert and enjoyed all that is Miley. It was unbelievable. She played all of the songs I had hoped she would, and she surprisingly was more tame than I expected. She was awesome. I was in no rush to make the 10:30 train because I was the one who was trying to figure everything out the whole day travel wise, so someone else needed to step up and figure it out. My roommates were still fighting so they were left in charge of navigating us back to Union station. Well, it took us 45 minutes to find a cab and we ended up missing the train. Great, right? We talked to a cop in that train station who advised we take a cab to BWI airport and find a way to Loyola from there. Luckily, our roommate who didn’t go to the concert who is an angel sent from God, didn’t go out that night (it was a Thursday) and she picked us up from BWI. It was a great experience and very YOLO (you only live once) of us to go down with no knowing of how we would get back. Thanks senior year, it took me this long to get down to D.C. at night, but it was worth getting stuck there for a little!
