I love roundabouts. Once you get used to them, they are faster than 4-way stops.

The SS Warrimoo, a passenger steamship traveling from Vancouver to Australia, was silently knifing its way across the mid-Pacific waters. The navigator had just finished calculating a star fix and handed the results to Captain John DS. Phillips.
The Warrimoo's coordinates were LAT 0º 31' N, LONG 179 30' W. The date was December 31, 1899. "Know what this means?" First Mate Payton announced, "We're only a few miles from the intersection of the Equator and the International Date Line."
Captain Phillips was prankish enough to seize the opportunity to do the nautical feat of a lifetime. He summoned his navigators to the bridge to double-check the ship's position. He altered his course slightly to focus directly on his target. He then altered the engine's speed.
The calm weather and clear night worked to his advantage. At midnight, the SS Warrimoo rested on the Equator, exactly where it had crossed the International Date Line. The ramifications of this odd arrangement were numerous.
The ship's bow was in the Southern Hemisphere, in the middle of summer. The stern was in the Northern Hemisphere, in the midst of winter. The date on the aft portion of the ship was December 31, 1899. The date on the forward half of the ship was January 1, 1900. The ship experienced multiple days, months, years, seasons, and centuries simultaneously.

By now you might have heard of the passing of Allison Parliament; bad news seems to travel at lightning speed. Her family has my condolences this morning.
There are those who believe that 'ducking Jeeps' is a silly thing. It has no basis in history, and a lot of 'traditional' Jeepers shun the idea. I personally liked the ducks, it meant someone liked my jeep, or I liked theirs.
Ducking Jeeps was borne out of a simple, pure, and honorable action. Allison would tell you that she never thought it would become 'a thing', in fact, the first time she 'ducked' someone, it was because they appeared to be having a bad day, and her only thought was to make them feel better.
Nobody could have known that this single simple act of kindness would bloom...coast to coast and beyond...and become a part of Jeep tradition.
What is duck duck Jeep?
The duck duck Jeep Craze was started in Ontario, Canada by the “Mother Ducker” Allison Parliament. Allison is from Ontario Canada but works in Alabama, In July 2020 Allison Parliament while back at home in Bancroft, Ontario – Canada was approached by strangers because of her Alabama Jeep license plate and attacked verbally because of pandemic concerns, instead of fighting back Alison parliament bought a Giant yellow rubber duck and placed them on a fellow Jeep owner with a note and posted it on Facebook. The post went viral and the duck duck jeep craze started, and hopefully, it doesn't end anytime soon.

Allison was a light in the dark, and her simple act of kindness is now a part of Jeep's history.

In the age of having the world’s information at our fingertips is a shame that so many people fall for such obvious conspiracy theories.
