So, I was admitted on Wednesday for a flare. Finally got out yesterday. And I thought I felt better, but I get home and today I’ve just felt off. Headache, weakness, but all my IBD symptoms are kinda resolved.

I had switched GI’s, and I kept telling him I needed something to help, I’d been bleeding for over a month and it was getting so bad. I told him when I’m in a flare, the best thing for me is a couple days in the hospital on solumedrol, but he didn’t listen. I went to the ER Tuesday, they called on call GI after seeing inflammation in CT, he said I’d be seen in office the next day. Call first thing the next day to have them tell me I’m too complicated and they’re referring me back to MUSC GI. So at my wits end, and from pleading from my husband and mom, I went to the ER. Sure enough, got admitted because they listened to me. They did a scope Friday morning, which showed active disease. It scares me because Entyvio is kind of a last resort thing for me, and obviously it’s not working like it should...so what now?

I had plenty of company visit me at the hospital which made it less stressful. Eloise would get restless, and she stayed two nights with my mom so Philip could work and rest, (he stayed in the ER with me until they could get me a room, which was still in the ER, but that had a private restroom and better bed, until 3am.) Mom said Eloise knew something was wrong, and was clingy and wanted to be held the whole time. I’m just glad she is surrounded by so much love. The first time she came to visit me she smiled so big. It was the best. But she was a bit worried with all the medical stuff around, especially the IV. But I think as she grows up, this will help her be more sympathetic towards others, and I’m hoping she never has to go through anything like this. The Dicksons came to visit twice, the second time on Heather’s birthday and she bought chickfila and cupcakes, bringing the party to me. She said it wouldn’t be the same celebrating without me. I’m so thankful to be surrounded by so many people who care, I don’t know how I’d survive without them.

Eloise sat in the coat closet at the hospital and played peekaboo with nana, which she thought was the funniest thing ever. She also enjoyed time with Bella while I was getting better, and gave her tons of kisses.

Besides being sick, and feeling off, things are stressful but I have people that love and care about me and I couldn’t ask for more.

Disability stuff has been tough, as it’s been sent to appeals council, but I applied for Shipt, and although I haven’t completed my first shop, I’m kind of excited to bring in extra money when I have the spoons and being able to pick and choose my schedule and not be punished for having an illness. This is getting long, and I’m rambling, but there’s an update since I’ve been gone for a bit. Hope everyone is well. Love and spoons ❤️
