Important to note:

The official packages and well-known pre-built binaries were not affected. The person who put out the malicious packages named them either [browser]-patch-bin or [browser]-fix-bin. As long as you didn't download any "patched" versions during the time they were available, just the normal ones, you were safe the whole time.

The malicious packages have already been taken off the AUR.

It is always good to check the packages before installing. Especially if they are new on the AUR or the maintainer is not well known. Updates to existing packages are generally okay.

sometimes, trying to contribute is not fun.

I've opened up an issue on the Floorp GitHub repo after their latest update caused some regression

They commented with a link to an experimental build and asked me if I coukd test it and see if that fixed the issue.

So far, so well. But

I am at my bf place, equipped only with my macbook. I figured I could add Linux and triple boot to test it. Easy process, 2 hours max.

It is now 6 hours later, my osx partition got wiped and the fresh installation fails, Windows thinks my GPT partition table is actually MBR and won't install because of it, Linux only partially works, it got no wifi and I need to compile the sound drivers for it but at least I could use dd then to create a mac installation thumb drive in hopes that 2/3 works
