Happy 55th birthday in Heaven to River Jude Phoenix, who was an amazingly talented actor and musician, a passionate activist towards peace, love, and environmentalism, and a beautiful, beautiful boy.

I am just a random woman who was born twelve years and a bit less than two months after River's tragic death at the age of twenty-three, and I believe it says a lot for River's looks and the amazingly bright light that shines from him that I, in this current year, am in love with him.

I've seen all of River's movies, and I can't help but to want more time looking at him, more time hearing his voice, more time spent with him. I just love River so much. I think it's important to not only remember River as a teen idol who died young. He had made clear in interviews his plans for the future. He wanted to keep acting and writing, singing, and playing his music, to keep demonstrating for the causes that he believed in, and to have a family of his own one day. He was a loving friend, brother, son, and boyfriend.

River, I love you.
