“As long as you don’t go opening my door you should be fine,” Keanu cautioned him. Even though he spent most of his time over at Kylee’s didn’t mean he hadn’t invited his girlfriend over to his place before and he was sure Clayton didn’t want to know what they got up to. “Why not a patient? I mean like, anyone can wind up in the hospital,” he argues not seeing what was glaringly wrong with the scenario but then again he was used to flirting with customers where he worked. Though a smoke shop and hospital had far different rules of conduct. “Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend dating a coworker. I’ve had to quit several jobs because of it,” he explained. After the third time he’d had to quit due to an ex he’d finally learned his lesson there.

"Ah so a neighbor." Cj teased. "Should I be worried?" He couldn't help to give Keanu shit about it. In all honesty, he hoped things worked out for the other. As long it meant his left overs were saved then he didn't care. Clayton snorted under his breath as he shakes his head, "No...like yes, I'm attractive but I wouldn't date any of my patients or coworkers, sleep with coworkers possibly but date? I don't think so. As expected eventually someone came up to help him and he quickly screwed the cap back on the bottle he’d just been sniffing. He definitely didn’t need any of their services today. He’d just buzzed and colored his hair again not too long ago and wasn’t looking to change anything up.

“Nah, I’m not here for a haircut. You guys do like gift cards and stuff?” Keanu asked as he turned to finally face the woman who was speaking to him.

Stevie had just finished a client's dye job and had them sitting under the dryer. This always gave her time to grab some water, clean up her station a bit, and just enjoy some down time. She was about to sit when she saw someone walk in and he seemed slightly... lost. Walking up to the front she gave him a smile. "Hey there..." She looked back at her coworkers to see if maybe anyone else recognized him, but heard nothing. "Are you here for a walk in? I think Vic might be ready in about ten or fifteen minutes." She offered helpfully.

“Yeah, man. I saw Tyler’s set that year too. I’ve seen him a couple of times. I’ve been a fan since he was doing stuff with Odd Future,” Keanu explained. “I don’t know though. I don’t really see a lot of like… bands so when their voice is the only thing that’s really live I kinda want them to sound good,” Keanu argued. It wasn’t like Kali had people up on stage playing live when she performed. “Rammstein’s that metal band that does the crazy pyrotechnics, right?” Keanu asked. That music wasn’t really his speed but even he’d heard those concerts were pretty nuts. “Man, I haven’t thought about Phish in years. They remind me of my high school art teacher. He’d put that shit on any time we had work time in class,” Keanu explained. He found that music to be corny and it definitely hadn’t aided in Keanu’s creative process. Good thing he always had headphones on him in class.

"Tyler's incredible live," Eddie nods. "Never seen Kali Uchis, I bet she fucks. See I've never gotten that whole thing about wanting artists to sound the same live as on a recording," he says. "I mean, I guess I get that for like...the Adele kind of people, where their voices are the main focus of their music, but everything else, I dunno, I've always really liked it when a band sounds raw live," he says. "I get what you mean though, her talent carries over to live performance, it fucking sucks when you see someone live the first time and the energy is just completely different. Rammstein is easily one of the coolest live shows I've been to, same with Phish obviously, but I feel like that's common knowledge." @keanuvelasquez

Keanu laughed as she accused him of being a talker. His arms wrapped around her loosely as she sat in his lap. “Trust me, my mom’s way worse,” he insisted. What should’ve been a five minute phone call she’d managed to stretch out into twenty minutes despite Keanu’s multiple efforts to end the conversation. He’d never actually brought a partner home to his mom before but maybe Kylee would be the first and Keanu was sure she’d yap her ear off. The woman was constantly interested in his love life even though Keanu was never very open with that information.

Keanu kissed Kylee back and grinned. “Whatever I want, huh?” He said as if he hadn’t already been getting his way all day. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t love the special treatment he got on his birthday.

Hearing her plan sounded great to Keanu. He was starving and could use some food and the weather seemed to be especially nice today so it would be a shame if they didn’t at least spend some time outside. “That sounds good. I could definitely eat,” Keanu confirmed before Kylee revealed she had a surprise. “A surprise? Is this the kind of surprise that’s gonna make me want to stay in?” He questioned as he playfully slipped his hands into the back pockets of her shorts. As much as he would enjoy fooling around with his girlfriend all day they probably should get out and do something. It’d only prolong the day and Keanu was looking to soak up his birthday as much as he could.

Kylee had been looking forward to Keanu's birthday ever since they first started talking about it over a month and a half ago. She wasn't going to do anything extravagant for him as they've only been dating for a little over a month, but she did have a few fun things in mind. She couldn't help but smile as she watched him talk to his mom on the phone though she kept herself busy while doing so. She was ready enough to get out of the house, though if he wanted to stay in a bit longer, she definitely had some fun indoor plans for them too. Partially naked fun plans.

She was walking back out into the living room from her bedroom when she watched his coughing fit and she laughed with him, approaching the couch. "You're a talker yourself so I can see where you get it from," she teased him grinning as she moved herself to straddle him on the couch, always wanting to be close to him and touching him. She rested her hands on his chest and leaned in to kiss him, smiling against his lips as she slowly ran her hands down his chest to rest on his shirt covered abs. "We can do whatever you want my sexy birthday man," she said against his lips before kissing him again. Pulling away moments later, she looked down at her green and pink painted nails knowing that Keanu loved them.

"I was thinking that we could grab some food to go and take it to our spot on the beach and have a lil picnic with obviously a blunt and a drink or two," she told him grinning. "I also may have a little surprise for you to put on in the bedroom, too," she said and smirked at him. @keanuvelasquez

“Mostly, yeah. She’s got a place in this building, so,” he explained. Keanu was sure that Clayton didn’t mind having the space to himself more often. It’d been a while since he’d ran into his roommate like this and he kinda forgot he was cohabitating with someone else which was kind of nice. He’d had roommates in the past who’d been clingy and it sucked. “I’m sure people are getting freaky in the on call rooms,” Keanu stated. It seemed like the most believable part of Grey’s Anatomy whenever he’d tuned in to watch with his grandma growing up. “You’re a handsome guy, I’m sure someone will come along,” Keanu stated. “Oh, yeah? Someone at the hospital or?” Keanu asked. Honestly, he really didn’t know much about his roommates life outside of the fact he was a nurse.

"A girlfriend? Is that where you've been?" He asked jokingly and shrugged his shoulders. "Nah that shit doesn't happen--at least not from what I noticed. People aren't that messy in public but outside of work is another story. We usually are far too tired to do anything that wild or that must be just me since I am still painfully single." Clayton admitted, before adding, "I do happen to have my eyes set on someone but who knows where that will lead."

Keanu’s birthday had been good so far. He’d spent the night at Kylee’s because she was really the only one he wanted to spend his birthday with this year and so far there’d been no complaints from Keanu. He didn’t have to work for the next couple of days so he was just enjoying having the free time even if they hadn’t gotten up to anything that exciting yet. It’d been a few years since he’d thrown a proper birthday party for himself and twenty-six wasn’t going to be one of those years either.

“Uh huh… yes, mhm. Yeah… alright mom, I gotta go…. No seriously I got to go… I love you too, bye,” Keanu could be heard on the phone with his mother as he sat on Kylee’s couch. He’d been receiving messages all day for his birthday and today was one of the few days he wasn’t annoyed at his phone blowing up. Keanu put his phone away as he reached for Kylee’s bong so he could take a rip. He’d been smoking and drinking since this morning so he certainly had a birthday buzz going.

Keanu exhaled the smoke with a cough having taken a bigger hit than he anticipated but he found himself laughing as he came out of the coughing fit. “Man, my mom loves to talk,” he informed Kylee. “I’m glad my grandmother was out otherwise I’d still be on the phone,” he explained. He loved the women who raised him dearly and he felt he owed it to his mom to talk to her on his birthday for a while. After all he wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for her.

“So, what now?” Keanu asked. Even though it was his birthday he’d kind of left the planning of the festivities up to his girlfriend and he didn’t expect her to go wild. They had only been dating for a little over a month now after all.

“Well, compliments to the chef. It was good,” he stated though Clayton already knew that as he’d taken leftovers home of it. “I don’t know, man,” Keanu began as he leaned back on the couch as he got comfortable. “Got a new girlfriend,” he dropped casually though it was probably pretty obvious something was up in Keanu’s love life. He was hardly at the apartment anymore and spent more and more time over at Kylee’s since she lived allow and just a few floors from him. “Outside of that nothing new. How about with you? How’s the hospital? Get into any saucy Grey’s Anatomy love triangles yet?”

Cj sighed knowing that he wouldn’t get anywhere with this round about conversation with his roommate which he dropped as he leaned back. “It was some fancy meal one of my friends made, forgot what they said it was. I don’t ask, I just eat it since it usually taste good.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders and glanced at Keanu. “So anything new with you? Or the same old thing?”

Keanu’s got a page in his notes app dedicated to Kylee. It’s where he keeps all the random things he’s learned about her. Right now it’s still pretty basic stuff like her birthday or her go to drink order at the bar, maybe a music artist or two she likes, stuff like that. He adds to it whenever he’s alone and thinks to. His memory’s shit so it’s the only way he can remember stuff. He’d never tell her he has it though and he’d rather her go through his texts than see what he’s written down about her.

“Aww man, I love anything my grandma cooks. She’s the best chef I know. Whenever she makes lumpias she makes like a million of ‘em and I get to take ‘em all home and put ‘em in the freezer. They never last long since they’re like the perfect munchie food.”

“Depends. I think some of the simpler ones start at twenty-four bucks but I’ve seen some of the more wild ones as much as sixty,” he explained. “They’re all handmade by this lady who’s got a studio just outside of town,” he explained. He’d met the lady a few times now and she was pretty cool. Not that that mattered right now.

Once Cricket mentions the frog, Keanu reached into the case and pulls it out quickly glancing at the bottom where the sticker was that told the price. “Little frog man’s thirty-two bucks,” he explained as he set the pipe down on the counter in case Cricket wanted to take a closer look at it. “Sometimes we got pieces shaped like alligators and like elephants and shit,” he told though as he looked in the case he didn’t see any of them right now. “The only thing with the frog is he’s kinda short. You got to be careful when lighting up sometimes people’s hair gets in the way,” he told her. It wasn’t an issue he had to deal with personally since he kept his hair buzzed but Cricket had a lot more hair to be mindful of.

"I hope we can still be friends." She sniffled, wiping pretend tears from her eyes with the boxes in her hand.

No longer a prop in her theatrics, the aforementioned vapes were dropped unceremoniously in her purse, along with the crumbled receipt that would live there probably until the end of time. A part of her was tempted to open one up right then and there, having been without since hers died this morning, but finding that part of her a little concerning, Cricket willed herself to refrain until she at least left the smoke shop.

The pipes were distraction enough, nodding along with Keanu's passionate sales pitch. She had to give it to him: he was certainly in his element and seemed to know his audience. Cricket herself was only a casual weed smoker, but when he put it like that, twelve dollars felt like a low price to pay for a better overall experience.

"How much are these?" She pointed to the pipes he'd referred to before. "Oh my God, stop, is that one shaped like a frog? He's so cute!"

“Aww man, I don’t know. I don’t usually remember much when I go to a concert,” he admitted. He was a big fan of festivals and the fact they were a constant party but that meant he was often on something when he was there and his memory is hazy. “Probably Kali Uchis. I’ve only seen her once at Coachella….2018? I think. But her set was great. She sounds just like she does on a recording live,” he explained. “She also brought Tyler up on stage to sing with her and that was sick,” he remembers. Her set was early enough in the day that he actually had some memory of it. “That Coachella line up was insane that year in general. I saw so many people,” he explained.

Closed starter for Stevie Sharp ( @steviesharp ) Location: Stunning Styles Salon

This was the first time Keanu had stepped foot in Stunning Styles Salon. He shaved and colored his own hair at home since he’d gone pink and prior to that it’d always been his mom who cut his hair. He’d been to a barbershop once in his life and that’d only been because his girlfriend at the time had begged him to get his hair done for prom. He was certainly out of his element here. Still, he knew Kylee got her nails and hair done here and he thought he might surprise her with something. They’d only been dating for a little over a month now but gift giving was huge with him.

Keanu wandered over to a nearby shelf of hair products and he proceeded to open up various jars and bottles giving them a sniff as he waited for someone to approach him and help him not that he was in any rush. He didn’t even have a real agenda being here after all. Really he was just checking the place out.

It’d been a while since Keanu had gone out on his own. Since he started dating Kylee the two had spent a lot of their free time together and if he was going to go out he’d be bringing her along. Tonight, however, his girlfriend was busy doing something with her sister or something and instead of staying in like he should he found himself hitting up Sharky’s for a drink or two. There weren’t any bands playing tonight but the bar was still open and he definitely liked the quieter nights there especially when drinking alone.

Keanu had a tequila Red Bull to start off his night as he shot off text messages while sitting at the bar. Eventually another man sat next to him and Keanu glanced over as he recognized Carter. He wasn’t someone he knew terribly well but they’d been in the same scene since high school so there was familiarity there. It didn’t automatically click that he was the same Carter his girlfriend had just broken up with prior to getting with him. Keanu shot him a quick nod of acknowledgement regardless.

Keanu was out with Kylee tonight and as they were bar crawling they’d finally made it to Oasis. In line waiting to get in Kylee had run into some friends and as soon as they were in the club he parted ways with his girlfriend so he could hit up the bar and get them some drinks while she caught up with her friends.

He was feeling good tonight and was already pretty drunk as he waited in line to be served by the bartender. It was there he witnessed a woman holding up the line with her drink. Keanu found it heavily amusing and found himself chuckling until she confronted him. “Give ‘em a break, dude. It’s a busy night,” he said. Keanu never gave a stink even when his orders were royally fucked up. If he got alcohol that’s all he cared about. “What even is a Miami Vice?” Keanu asked. It sounded like one of those made up drinks that bartenders are forced to google with a name like that.

"I'm not asking for special treatment, I am just asking that when I order a Miami Vice you do not just make some semblance of a strawberry milkshake and overcharge me. If you're going to do that, then just make it goddamn right." Cordelia grunted, as she rubbed her forehead with an exasperated sigh. Perhaps she still held some frustration at being back in Aurora Bay and her emotional tether was fraying, hence the sudden outburst.

But still, she could barely taste any alcohol in the beverage she'd received. And my god, she needed it.

Noticing eyes on her, she turned her head and frowned at her audience. "What?" She snapped.

"Yeah, two other girls," Keanu confirmed. At least that'd been the case a few months ago. It wasn't like he kept up with his ex's living situation now that he was no longer coming by the house. There was a high chance that her roommates were in there drinking with her but he didn't really remember their faces and hadn't been looking out for them when he'd caught a glimpse at his ex entering The Reef.

Keanu knew it was a shot in the dark asking some random guy to help him in his scheme to get his stuff back and he wasn't getting his hopes up so it came as a bit of a surprise when the guy agreed to help him out. He caught the keys as they were tossed to him. It'd been a while since he'd last had a joint or a drink so he was fine to drive despite the fact his evening was taking a completely different turn than he'd expected. He'd walked downtown tonight after all so at least it wasn't like he was ditching his car right now.

"Yeah, I still remember the way," he confirmed. They might not have been a couple for very long but he'd spent quite a bit of time over at her place in the short span he had been with her. "Where's your car?" He asked him.

He could understand the hesitancy, or at least he thought he could. It was understandable for someone, especially a stranger, to be cautious when the topic of trespassing in order to retrieve one's belongings was brought up. Jace wasn't expecting to gain anything from the situation except maybe an adrenaline rush and the potential for a new friend.

"I get it," he says, nodding his head as he listens, his arms crossed over his chest. "There's like two of them, right?" he asks, raising an eyebrow as he tries to recall the faces of the other individuals. Although he was familiar with the man's ex, he hadn't interacted with her roommates nearly as much.

A small grin starts to form on Jace's face at the question, hinting at the possibilities of where the night may lead them. "I can," he replies, simply shrugging his shoulders and uncrossing his arms. While he did come out to have a good time, the side quest he was about to endure seemed like one he couldn't miss out on.

"I'm in," he responds without hesitation. "But you'll have to do the driving," he adds, reaching into his pocket to toss his keys to the stranger. "I mean, you do know the way, don't you?" he questions.
