Call for plays and programs for the 3rd NITFest 2025

The team of Nepal International Theatre Festival (NIT FEST) would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all the media personnel for their immense support and guidance to Nepali Theatre.

Mandala Theatre Nepal is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the highly anticipated 3rd edition of Nepal International Theatre Festival (NITFEST). 3rd NITFEST, announced by Mandala Theatre Nepal on World Theatre Day, March 27, 2024, aims to provide a platform for artists and theatre enthusiasts to come together and celebrate the power of theatre as a tool for social transformation. Building upon the success of the previous editions, the 3rd NITFEST promises to be even more dynamic and inclusive with applications for plays and other events.

To apply for the festival, interested participants can visit the official NITFEST website www.nitfest.org, where they will find detailed information about the application process and submission guidelines. The deadline for play submissions is May 31, 2024. One exciting addition to this year's festival is the introduction of a special section dedicated to children's theatre. In this section, plays targeted towards children will be showcased, providing a unique opportunity for young audiences to experience the magic of live theatre. Applicants are required to complete a Google form - https://forms.gle/6JVWHySZnbhTkKH99_ and provide a video clip of their play performance.

In addition to traditional play submissions, this year's festival welcomes applications for a variety of other events, including workshops, panel discussions, dance performances, musical showcases, seminars, literary works, and other cultural celebrations. Artists and cultural enthusiasts from different continents and countries are invited to participate and contribute to the festival's diverse line-up of events. For those interested in participating in other events such as workshops, panel discussions, and cultural celebrations, applications can be submitted using a separate Google form - https://forms.gle/buoyq9fqqV6uqwHt7_ by June 30, 2024.

The theme of the 3rd NITFEST is "Theatre for Social Transformation: Light of Indigenous Wisdom," and is scheduled from March 16 to March 27, 2025.Along with the main events in Kathmandu, various programs will also be held in different parts of the valley, ensuring widespread participation and engagement.

With the motto, TOGETHER WITH PARENTS, Nepal International Children Film Festival has been announced after releasing the Festival Logo by the Actor Dayahang Rai, Pashupati Rai and Child Actor Prasan Rai. Child Actor Prasan Rai is one of the main actor of the upcoming movie ‘Gau Aaeko Baato (Road To A Village), by Nabin Subba.

Established in 2069 BS (2013 AD), Alliance for Children’s Film Nepal (ACF Nepal) aims to develop an environment of film for children by involving them in the films OF THE CHILDREN, made FOR THE CHILDREN, and also engage them in the films BY THE CHILDREN, where they can be the future of Nepali Cinema. Also, they are also the future audience, therefore, it is very necessary to develop film literacy, especially for the Nepali audience. Therefore, the main goal of ACF Nepal is to develop the Film Literacy from the childhood level.

Film is the medium, the combination of different arts that will engage the children with the culture, society and education. It can help Children in the following ways:

- Film can help develop Children’s Cognitive skills, such as forming long-term memory, maintaining focus, developing logic, reasoning, visual and auditory processes.

- Children will also be introduced to the Global Society and Culture through the medium of the films.

- Film could also be a strong medium to decrease the distance between the relation of the children and their parents.

यसअघि दुई साताअघि राइट टु प्रोटिन रनको मुख्य विधा हाफ म्याराथन महिलातर्फ उनले उपाधि जितेकी थिइन्। एक खेलपछि अर्को खेल लगातार खेलिरहेकी उनले २०२४ को सुरुवातमा बंगलादेशमा म्याराथनमा राष्ट्रिय कीर्तिमानसहित गोल्डमेडल, पोखरा म्याराथन, धरान रन र आर्मी म्याराथनमा लगातार गोल्ड मेडल जितेकी थिइन् ।
