Second Trimester Wrap-up..
This week 4/24/2019 marks the beginning of my THIRD and FINAL trimester. My due date is only twelve weeks away, where did the time go? It is a surreal feeling, somedays I feel like there is no way I am due in only 12 weeks but other times I feel like I am so ready for baby girl to make her appearance. Even though is stretching and kicking those legs like 100 times a day, she still has plenty of growing to do and I am perfectly okay with that. So what have I been doing this whole entire second trimester? Well I am going to give you guys all my cravings, tricks, and things that have gotten me through it.
CRAVINGS:
Honestly, I am still not having any crazy cravings. I loved pickles before my pregnancy and still love them through pregnancy. But lately I have been wanting sandwiches like Subway or chicken wraps. MMmmMmmm….. Makes me hungry just thinking about it. Speaking of hunger, my appetite is a little funny. I can eat at night right before bed, and I still wake up hungry like a bear well, “momma bear” in this case. But through out the day I do a lot of snacking, because baby girl has been stretching into mommas’ ribs and making it very uncomfortable to not only breathe but enjoy eating!
My BFFS through pregnancy so far…
I remember being one of those people *before pregnancy and experiencing it for myself saying: “I won’t need maternity clothing” “Oh sure there’s back pain but it can’t be that bad” “It’s mind over matter” Wow was I wrong… I have definitely learned my lesson to never speak on something until you experience it for yourself. LESSON LEARNED. I have only gained 13 pounds so far, which is good for me I still have some room to grow and it’s all been in my belly area. But even work out shorts just do not fit how they use to. So maternity leggings, and yoga pants have been my bestie through out my pregnancy. My man’s shirts have also been a good help when I just want some extra room to sleep in. Pillows and my body pillow have also been a HUGE help. Water and yogurt have also been good friends to me. I drink tons and tons of water it is the first thing I grab in the morning and I love me some yogurt. It is the quickest healthy snack and has helped with digestion. Another thing lets talk about is SKIN. I mentioned before in my earlier posts that my skin has had it rough *literally* through out my pregnancy. But luckily it has gotten better, and so far so good no stretch marks. But I have heard many women can get them right before baby’s arrival and even after so let’s cross our fingers and hope not. *I will post pictures below of products I have been using.*
And for my body I stick with the trimester rule:
Once a day= First trimester
Twice a day= Second trimester
Three times a day= Third trimester

I do not use these products all at once. That would be doing the MOST. But the body wash is very good for your skin and zero sulfates, parabens, dyes, gluten… etc. I love the Renpure brand plus it smells AMAZING. I even got Hubby using the lotion ;) I use the lotion all over including the belly area. For the baby oil I use that right after the shower when I feel like it’s needed...

Also, the ONLY stretch mark cream I actually purchased was the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula tummy butter. I use this only on my belly and my chest maybe 3-4 times a week, once a day.
Baby Registry *First timers*
Let me be quite honest when I say I have only been to maybe two baby showers in my life and I was younger back then, so I wasn’t responsible for looking at someone’s registry and picking out a gift. So, doing ours was really fun. Julio and I went to Target and Walmart to register, and now since technology has taken over you can do all of it from your phone by scanning the product you want. As were walking through the aisles feeling the realness of Baby S coming, there was so many decisions to make! Which is the best product? What colors? What theme? How many do we actually need? But what if the baby doesn’t like those…? Oh man. But thankfully they offer tips of what you need right on the registry and I took a lot of knowledge from mom friends I had, and tips provided on Pinterest. Thank you, internet and reviews!
Baby Shower Planning….
Mostly at the end of my second trimester I finally got things finalized for the baby shower. I always had a vision for the baby shower since we found out the gender but also, I put it on the backburner since it felt like so far away. Now it is only four weeks away!! And I am feeling it. Majority of it is taken care of though and I am so thankful for my friends and family who are helping me with all of it. I cannot wait to share photos and everything about it with you guys! So, stay tuned!

25 Weeks Bumpdate|Nose bleeds and all...

Well hellooooooo week 25! I am more then half way there. Ever heard of pregnancy brain? HA well I thought that was such a myth until I started getting it. Basically it’s you becoming clumsy and forgetful all at once. I think in the past two weeks I have broken two dishes, dropped numerous items, and I’m surprised I haven't forgotten how to spell my name. People say it’s caused by women being so focused on their bodies and the stress of getting everything together before you bring life into this world. I blame it on the extra 12 pounds I have in front of me, the exhaustion, and well if I may say pregnancy to. But I am trying to slow down and relax because I am no help being all scrambled up like some eggs.
Also, I jinxed myself you guys, all the pregnancy hit me at once. Went to bed with a sore throat, and since I am pregnant it is recommended not to take any type of medications unless prescribed by your doctor. So THANK GOODNESS for warm tea, honey, and lemon. Then it was two nose bleeds later, due to my body going through the motions. It was not a fun day at all. But today is the day after all that, and I feel so much better. So I have decided that pregnancy is just like a rollercoaster, but a rollercoaster that you are on for 9 months. Imagine if rollercoasters were really that long of a ride... Yikes.
Cravings this week: SALTY FOODS! yummmm.

Diabetic and Pregnant (6weeks to 23 weeks update)
Being diabetic wasn’t planned and neither was pregnancy. But both have been a blessing in my life! I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was six years old, and ever since have not been in the hospital. I have kept myself pretty healthy. Unlike many pregnant women who get diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which only happens during pregnancy and is usually maintained by a healthy diet and exercise… I have to eat a healthy diet, maintain working out, watch my glucose levels, and make sure I give myself insulin.

Above is a little breakdown of the types of diabetes.
Since I found out about my pregnancy when I was 6 weeks, my first thought was WHAT DO I DO?! I was worried about my diabetes and my baby. The first coupe visits were rough, I have two doctors watching over my health, and my baby’s health. My endocrinologist (diabetic specialist) and the OBGYN (baby doctor) Constantly hearing the negatives of being diabetic and pregnant and none of the positives.
-High risk of birth defects
-High risk of miscarriage
-Weight gain
-Heavier baby when delivered
Those are just a few reminders I kept hearing... Not having a lot of information I decided to just go with it and to listen to my doctors but also listen to my own body.

Fast forwarding to 23 Weeks pregnant, I have had a beautiful journey. I have learned tips and simple ways to manage my diabetes but also enjoy my pregnancy. It has not been easy but it has been worth it.
Things that have helped me through this journey are:
-Family/friends support
-Doing my own research
-Listening to my own body
-Healthy eating habits
-WATER TONS OF WATER
-Exercise
-Positive attitude
-Reading
I hope this small chapter of my life can help others going through what I am.
