So my first blizzard wasn't really a blizzard? Sigh.
And now for a great blizzard that actually happened: Brooklyn Bridge during the Great Blizzard of 1888. Only five years earlier, the bridge officially opened and was hailed as “the Eight Wonder of the World” – an unprecedented engineering feat made possible by a brilliant unsung woman who taught herself physics, architecture, and engineering to bring the plan to completion.
