Honest commentary on the Top 4 things that had me saying “holy shit!” this week.
Tinder on Desktops
Dating apps are taking over our lives and what better way to add to it than Tinder on your very own desktop. Apparently the interface is supposed to weed out the losers who don’t actually talk to you after you match (aka everyone) but very unclear on how this will work out. Also there’s no more swiping, which I can kind of can get on board with because most of the time all my left swiping has me feeling like I have the worst case of carpel tunnel. Very ready to click and drag my matches for a change.
Saint 75 at Café Colette
In my time in NYC thus far, I’ve tried my fair share of fancy, albeit sometimes very overpriced cocktails. Most have been nice, some have been very memorable, but nothing slapped me in the face with pure deliciousness like this drink. It’s perfectly balanced with the right amount of vodka, elderflower liquor and topped with sparkling wine. Plus, it has this intoxicating citrus aroma that I desperately wanted to bottle up and make a perfume with. At $11 it’s a complete bargain in the city and I’ll be coming back for more, more, more. Even if the bartender was incredibly awkward and looked like a blonde Edward Scissorhands...
Bucket Hats
Hell no you guys. Just hell no. I don’t care how many of the 90s trends are coming back, bucket hats can not be one of them. No adult should be wearing a hat like this. Voting for all fashion editorials to NOT include this ugly piece of head gear. I’m looking at you Into The Gloss, I better not be seeing more of this.
Pizza on Pizza
2 years ago I rang in the new year in Williamsburg. Around 2am I stumbled into a pizza shop and vaguely remember ordering a piece of pizza with little pieces of pizza on top. I remember yelling out something along the lines of #PizzaInception over and over again. The next morning I wasn’t quite sure if I had imagined this pizza or if it was real. Cue yesterday when I by chance went into the same pizza spot and I was reunited with the pizza on pizza pizza. It’s a real thing. Bless Vinnie’s and thank you universe for magically putting us in touch again.
