Have you been to any of the Van Gogh exhibits popping up? This was the “Van Gogh Alive” experience at the #BiltmoreEstate in #Asheville, #NC. It was amazing and immersive with quotes from #VanGogh, his paintings “coming to life,” and a beautiful accompanying soundtrack. While this exhibit at the Biltmore has ended, we highly recommend checking out one of the many others! Is there an artist you would like to see with an immersive experience like this? Plane Crash at Waterrock Knob

Off of the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Waterrock Knob Overlook, one can find the remains of a plane crash that occurred in 1983.

It's a moderately difficult two-mile hike from the Visitor Center area. The hike, however, is beautiful and well worth it! We didn't realize how popular visiting this sad site would be as there were quite a number of other people going off of the main trail to visit it. Afterwards, we learned that it has been a popular spot to visit since at least the 90s and many students at the local colleges would be instructed to visit for photographic assignments.

Inclement weather and pilot error is what lead to the crash of the Cessna 414A and death of both pilot and passenger on that fateful day in 1983. It is one of many planes crashed and left in the mountains of western North Carolina.
