to be blunt, relishing the idea of any kind of war comes from a place of supreme privilege i don't think many who call for it even realise they have, which is that they have never known war; never lived in or seen a country torn apart by it.

and i honestly truly think that if you've never seen war, never seen what it does to people, what it does to the environment, what it does to as-yet unborn generations, you should take a seat and listen to people who have seen it when we tell you that all war is a tragedy and no war should ever be celebrated.

war is a grotesque last resort and it is humanity's greatest evil. it should never be greeted with cheers or anything other than the deepest grief and shame.
