Winslow Homer, Boys Wading
warm natural light, soft color, loose brushstrokes, realism, watercolor, earthy tones, transparent washes, subtle details
Connecting art to your world
Lying on the beach, the ocean's hue shifted dramatically, from a greenish-blue near the shore to a royal blue further out, intensified by the bright yellow sun. I noticed the value changes as shadows darkened the waves, while crests caught the light, appearing almost white. The saturation was incredible in spots, with a pure, vibrant blue that felt all-encompassing. This experience made me realize that color was more than visual; it was an emotion, alive and full of depth, changing how I perceived the world and its beauty in unexpected details.
It’s nearly impossible to pick only one color scheme out of all of them. One of the color schemes I would select are olive green and cream, I chose these because green compliments my eyes and cream compliments my skin tone. While complimenting me, the colors also compliment each other. Not all colors compliment each other so identifying colors that go together is a huge factor I used in determining my color scheme.

A good interactive design, to me, creates a seamless and meaningful connection between the user and the experience. The Rain Room art exhibit is designed to let visitors walk through falling water without getting wet, using motion sensors to stop the rain wherever a person stands. Its intent is to explore the relationship between technology, nature, and human presence. It fulfills its purpose by evoking wonder and reflection while giving visitors control over an environment that normally feels uncontrollable.

Art Project (Self-Portrait)
Something that fascinates me about my daily life is how much I go through on a daily basis but how I am able to keep going strongly.

Writing a Self Portrait
I am a 19 year old female born in New York, but moved to Florida from Connecticut 5 years ago. Majority of my ancestry is Irish and Italian. For fun I enjoy going to the beach, traveling, attending concerts, playing with my animals, taking photos, and working. I work at New Pass Grill and Bait Shop as a cashier and I have worked here for over 2 years now. I am very close with my manager, the cook and my older sister works here as well. It is a very positive and welcoming work environment. I truly couldn’t be more grateful to have that job while I am going through college. Some things I believe make me uniquely me is that my parents divorced when I was one so the majority of my life has been spent with my mom and sister, I am the ultimate girl. At 15 years old I lost my hair due to extreme stress and trauma after moving to Florida which led to 4 terrible years of bullying and harassment throughout highschool. Thankfully my hair is now back and I learned many life lessons from the experience so at the end of it all I am grateful. I am very kind, empathetic , and grateful. I have worked so hard to be where I am in life today but am eternally grateful for the walk of life I have gone through because I was able to learn so much by such a young age.

Art and Writing
A work of art from my life that hangs in my room as well as is important to me and I look at it daily is my seashell art work. It is a shadow box filled with shells found at the beach. I used glue as the adhesive to stick the shells to the fabric lining. I also used adhesive to stick fairy lights around the edge of the box to make it light up.  This serves as a daily reminder to me that our world is so naturally beautifully made and while everything is so different or unique that's what makes it beautiful. I do believe this artwork is beautiful, not one shell is the same but they are all so exquisite and it brings light to the beauty on earth.

Virtual Sketchbook 1
Hi, my name is Kelsey. One fact about me is that I love the beach.
5 Facts about the piece: Damien Hirst 1992 The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living.
The species of the shark is a tiger shark
The artwork sold for around $8 million in 2004
The shark was caught off Harvey Bay in Queensland, Australia
The shark was preserved poorly; the gallery had added bleach to the fluid. The gallery then skinned the shark and put the skin over a fiberglass mold.
This artwork has been featured in a book called "The $12 million-dollar stuffed shark", The artwork was also featured in the New York Times.
My perception on the artwork has changed drastically, when I first looked at the artwork it seemed very unique. While I still believe the artwork is unique, I now find the shark to be intimidating as the artists asked the fisherman to find something "big enough to eat you". Knowing the shark has been renewed since it was taxidermized the first time gives me a sense of a second life. Although I believe that killing this shark was "inhumane" just to be put on display I still find the one of one piece highly fantasizing.
