Text: My previous Institute was in a low income neighbourhood, and students could only attend if they met the low income government subsidy requirements. They were often kids straight out of foster care, or prison in some cases. Many of them had issues that went far beyond what we were equipped to help them with, and I’m sorry to say that the successful claim rate out of that school was very low. I did my best to help the students there, but there’s only so much help you can give to someone who does not wish to help themselves.Â
Having come from that school, I can very much see why alcohol is not allowed on campus. Mixing alcohol with scenes is a very poor idea, especially for those who are still learning. Even if alcohol was allowed, spiking the punch was a very stupid and dangerous thing to do… Mr. Hart will be joining my class next semester, I can only hope I’ll be able to help him.Â
[Text] That sounds exceptionally challenging, Mika. It takes a certain kind of person to work in that sort of environment, and I’m sure the students were lucky to have you for the time that they did.Â
[Text] I disagree. One absolutely should not mix alcohol with scenes, but that doesn’t mean all alcohol should be banned from campus entirely. I would like to think that part of teaching students to be responsible in their roles involves a discussion of alcohol and drugs in regards to scenes. Students who are going to make the poor decision to grab a whip while drunk can still do that after returning from town. The campus ban does make it harder for them to make a poor decision, but I feel like they’re adults and deserve some trust--but, of course, it is not my decision to make the rules here, only to follow and enforce them. I fully support the Institute’s punishment, here. A rule was grievously broken, and there are consequences for that. I do hope it helps Mr Hart learn his lesson, and from your background, it sounds as if you will be a perfect mentor for him next term.
[Text] How are you holding up amongst all these nerves? -Ken
Text: It’s a hard line to toe between being there for the students and reminding them of why this punishment is necessary, isn’t it? I always struggled with that part, but at my old Institute, it was a lot more black and white. Wide Punishments were very frequent in that school, but almost always deserved by the majority of the student body. Here, the majority of them are innocent, but it’s still a valuable lesson for them all. How are you doing?Â

[Text] It’s quite a fine line, yes. It sounds like your previous Institute had quite the behavior problem. Truthfully, I don’t understand the rule itself. It’s alcohol. They’re adults. They should be able to make the decision to drink in their homes if they want to. However, it is a rule, and Mr Hart shattered the rule into pieces. The innocent students will have the value of a solid rules system reinforced with the wide, and that can only ever be a good thing. I’d say I’m looking forward to when I stop having my students jump at the slightest unexpected movement, though I imagine it will take several weeks for that to be the case.

I’m doing okay. Punishments happen. I’m not happy, but it’s a part of being here, when someone breaks the rules so badly, we all pay.
That’s an attitude I hope most students have. I know that school-wide discipline can be a bit... intense, shall we say, particularly for those not at fault for the infraction. It serves as a moment of learning for everyone, though, and I have no doubt that this wide will be no different.

Cooking is calming to me, Sir, plus I love to see people enjoy my food. My dom and I couldn’t eat all of it!
I’m glad it’s a source of comfort for you, Layla. How are you holding up?

They’re different takes on comfort junk food, meatballs and nachos. The agua fresca is just yummy and the coconut milk in it is creamy to cut the spice of the food.
I certainly look forward to trying it! It’s very kind of you to share with your classmates--and teachers, for that matter.

Of course, Sir! I always try to make plenty to share.
Thank you very much, Layla. And these are all common American comfort foods?

Feels like we could all use some comfort foods. I made some Strawberry Agua Fresca with Coconut Milk, Pulled Pork Loaded Totchos and Buffalo Chicken meatballs if anyone wants some.
Is there enough for faculty to partake? I must admit these foods rather intrigue me.

Mateo blinked and felt his heart rate kick up. Shit. Something was going on and now there was a teacher. “Uh… yeah, I think I’m… dehydrated? It’s… I just feel hot and kind of dizzy,” he admitted, managing to find his balance though he swayed a moment later.
Ken frowned at Mateo’s response. He was either drunk or ill, and either way, he needed some assistance. He immediately stepped over to him and wrapped an arm around the other man’s shoulders to help steady him. “Come with me, Mr Lopez. Let’s get you sitting down, hm?” He guided them slowly to the nearest classroom, and he helped the younger man down into a chair along the far wall before cracking a nearby window to let some cool winter air in. He squatted down in front of him. “How long have you been feeling like this, Mr Lopez?”

Mateo let out a breath as he stepped into the hall outside of the dance. It was too cold to linger outside, but he felt oddly warm still. Hopefully the water would help, but he had no idea why he felt so overheated and dizzy. He paused to take a long swig of his water, his eyes fixed on the bottle after to try and get the lid back on. Of course, with his concentration elsewhere it wasn’t a surprise when he ran into someone else, stumbling into them with a little grunt. “Oh god… I’m sorry, I wasn’t paying attention,” he said hurriedly.
Ken was returning to the great hall after a quick bathroom break--and check for illicit activities--when a student bumped into him. He reached a hand out automatically to steady the other person, and he frowned at the sight of the man in front of him. He knew of Mateo Lopez on sight, even though he wasn’t currently in any of his classes. “It’s quite all right, Mr Lopez,” he said. “Are you okay?”

Text: Hi Mr Campbell, my shopping in town was very successful. I found a really great suit shop and they went above and beyond to help me out
[Text] Oh, how excellent, Mr St James! I’ll have to make sure I see your suit at the dance.

Everyone needs a go to shop when it comes to dress up for an occasion, I definitely agree on that. I have suits as well but nothing really works for the theme so I needed something new
I certainly look forward to seeing how creative all of you get when it comes to matching the theme. Honestly, half the time I feel as if I’ve stepped into an American film over here, Mr St James.

I hope it’s a successful trip so you can get your own amazing suit, are you going to dress according to the theme or just need an all-rounder suit?
I hadn’t thought of dressing for the theme, but perhaps I should! I already have plenty of suits, but between myself and my Dominant, it never hurts to know the good shops.

It’s okay Mr Campbell, it’s easy to get them confused. I definitely will let you know how I fair out.
Excellent. I look forward to hearing the report, and potentially seeing the result of your excursion next Saturday evening.

Mr Masen? Oh sorry my last name is St. James. But I’m going into town actually, there is a couple stores including some thrift stores that I should check out apparently.
Apologies, Mr St James. I must have gotten distracted with your username on this institute platform. Will you report back on the shops you check out?

So with this dance coming up, probably best I try and source a good suit. Anyone have any go-to online stores or even ones in town. I have my own collection but want something new and closer to the fire aspect of the theme.
Have you been given any good leads, Mr Masen? I’m rather new to the area myself and one never knows when one may need a new suit.

switchryder:
Text: Always, Sir.
Text: Well, technically no. He’s not trained, but he grew up with a very Dommy household and I could argue being in an class open to doms or subs could train you for either. He does keep me safe and we don’t do things that I feel he doesn’t have the training for. I thought he handled it decently, except we had a communication break down, but that happens with Doms too. I mean sometimes I sub for Cat or Frankie but it’s not the same. I don’t even get close to subspce. Yeah me too sir, that’s why after our scene went sideways I told him I wasn’t going to sub for him until we sorted things out.
[Text] In that case, it sounds like you’re simply going to have to wait for him, Mr Lynn.
[Text] Why is subbing for Cat or Frankie not the same as subbing for Archer? Are they less capable Dominants in terms of what you need in a scene, or are you holding yourself back from trusting them fully?Â
Text: Hey Sir. We’re ya’ll a switch? Ya know.. before?
[Text] Yes, I was, Mr Lynn. Why do you ask?

Text: Oh I know that Sir. I know that very well. I waited like 6 months to even tell my close family and friends that we were together. I patiently waited for him come out and accept that he’s bi. In the end he got outted, but still. I’ve waited as he’s slowly accepted his sexuality, his mark, his kinks, everything. All I’ve done is wait.
Text: Okay but do be fair, Archer is supposed to be a Dom. It’s not like all the time subbing, it’s just like for scenes. The scene went sideways because I invited someone else to join who wasn’t ready for it and it wasn’t a good idea. That was on me. I know I’d be better off subbing for a trained Dom, but subbing isn’t something that comes naturally to me. I have to do it with someone I trust completely and who gets me. I can’t just go out and get a scene from some rando, Sir.
[Text] Is he worth waiting for still?
[Text] Does he have any training at all? Is he able to keep you safe? Did he handle the sideways scene appropriately? I worry that submitting to him may do you more harm than good in the long run, Mr Lynn. Are there not any Dominants here who you trust to take care of you in a scene? Trust is absolutely important in a scene, for both parties. Your submission is a gift, and I fully advocate for not giving it to someone unless you trust them to treat it well.
Text: Hey Sir. We’re ya’ll a switch? Ya know.. before?
[Text] Yes, I was, Mr Lynn. Why do you ask?
