Printing Final

After having some issues with printing my final, I reached out to pronto-print in Parnell and have received a quote to print my final card designs and packaging.

Prototype

Today I printed my prototype, which consisted of my set of 10 cards and dieline packaging. I printed at PinkLime;

Cards - A6, Double sided on 300gsm

Dieline - A4, Double sided on 300gsm

For some reason they gave me 6 copies of the cards instead of one but means I can practice the gold leaf on them! I’m not happy with how some of illustrations printed with coloured boxes around them? so will need to fix that for the final.

Updated dieline packaging, I have now designed the interior of the box with the polka dot pattern from the cards to keep it cohesive

Card Designs

Updated card designs, I still need to create some illustrations of ‘bella’ for the empty pages and make the quotes more cohesive but I am happy with how it’s coming together.

QR Codes

I am now adding a series of QR Codes on the back of the cards to helpful websites for someone struggling with Body Dysmorphia or a loved one.

Gold Foiling

Today I experimented with gold foiling in the bindery, I am planning on foiling the line drawings and other small designs throughout the cards to keep it cohesive.

Above is the dieline template with my ‘character, I then printed it out and experimented with putting it together to see how it would look!

Testing

After doing some test prints with packaging and the cards, I’ve decided to turn the 7 double sided cards into 14 cards with a pattern on the back. I found it quite difficult to remember to turn over all the cards and read them all separately.

For the back pattern I am thinking of a simple illustration or dots to keep it playful but not too busy with the other illustrations.
